I noted that when it does endless tries to post, switching on and off, it is a memory issue. By the way I am able to boot 500 Mhz + and I measured the memory bandwith to check the strap changes: with my system at 500 MHz it is very poor, 3900 MB/s vs 5700 MB/s at 390 Mhz.
Another story: was anyone able to regulate the speed of fans connected to sys1 e sys2 3 pins connectors?
I tried any bios combination and programs like speedfan but I never succeed in![]()

POS. I can get to 508mhz fsb but after that it becomes flaky even with memory running at 5,5,5,15 1:1. The memory runs fine at 600mhz at 5,5,5,18@2.35v no problem. Seem like a hardware strap issue.

Still cannot post past ~525MHz FSB even with the CPU on water. Still have only tried 4GB of ram though.
you know a lot of CPU have a FSB wall before 500MHz...

hey can someone figure out if and where the mobo switches straps
I have to admit that reading other peoples experiences with other boards that this mobo would benefit from a more developed bios. But as a recent 939 convert I'm quite pleased with the performance I'm getting.
Roll on memset for the P35 too!

Anyone have this board and a Q6600? I just got mine today and am wondering whats the best bios working for quad?.

You mean after a normal restart, or an automatic restart after a bad overclock?
If the later, it wouldn't be able to boot with your messed up settings.
I see that all the time, and that's good.
Anyhow, today I had a complete reset, like when you click on that "load default settings" or whatever it's called in the BIOS, everything was lost. Anyone else seen this before?

Think i have no luck at all with CPUs
Tried several of them:
E2140 max 380FSB (or 8*370)
E2160 max 370FSB
E6300 490FSB
E6320 500FSB
none of them can do over 500![]()
Hey guys finally I see some "action":
Im on the stock cooler (with a few mods to make it quieter & safer) because my xp-120 didnt fit contrary to this artical:
http://www.legionhardware.com/document.php?id=643&p=2
This is a random overclock, I didnt want to go mad only having a stock cooler. Can anyone make sence of these temps? I set the bios to alarm over 70'c and I got an alarm when core temp 0.95 went over 70'c. Also in the first overclock I had the voltage options set to AUTO and it bumped the CPU voltage up to 1.4v with a lot higher temperatures.
Ill go for more if the temperature is ok. What do u think?
Edit 1.38v idle 1.36v load Orthos @3.15Ghz e2160.
Vdroop zero according to speedfan ( it does show movement when vcore set to auto in the first overclock):
