hmm why dont u try running the board outside of the case, use a box. and just lay the antistatic bag down under the board. use only one stick of ram. And reflash the bios if u can post at all, with the parameter switchs that we posted earlier, dont know what else really to tell you. have u tried another psu?

would it make a difference if the HZ was an early model - not the recent ones - I bought them about a year ago at about 340 USD

I doubt it is the PSU - for that I am sure I will play with it for an hour or so and get back to you
