I'm waiting on my IP-35Pro to arrive. And I am planning on remounting the heatpipe cooling on this board as per your guide. However, I don't have much in my inventory for 40mm fans. I do have one 40mm x 20mm. But, it looks like you are using 40mm x 10mm fans. Will a 40mm x 20mm fan be too thick? I am going with the same heat sink (TR 120 Extreme) BTW.

I cannot tell 100% by the pics, but it looks like a 20mm thick fan may not fit very well..?? Possibly on the NB part. But it looks too tight on the PWM part.

I like the 20mm thick fans, as they seem to move a bit more air with less noise. But if they won't fit, then what's the point.

Also I have to add: thanks a lot for all the effort you put into providing some very helpful info! ... and a hats off to Nelly & everyone else that have contributed to this thread as well .. Thanks ya'all

here are 2 pictures that show how i am cooling the NB and the PWM area since i reconfigured my ultra-x heatsink.

i had to place the PWM fan at a new location since the "pull" 120x38mm fan blocks access to the PWM heatsink...its a fairly strong fan that puts out good cfm's so that distance away is not as a big problem as you might think.

notice the mod i did to the ultra...its just painters tape on each side of the ultra...that keeps any fan air from spilling out from the side...it helped lower the temp about another 1-2C...easy mod to do....getting xtreme now!
