That hexagon is made by milling or with electric discharge machine?

I like this container since its not just some cylinderical shape made by lathe like almost every container nowadays. Maybe people dont get what things are hard and what are easy to machine? Making smooth shining container is easy (with steppers, some angular shapes and all that basic crap) ... making this particular bottom.. much much harder (or at least more complex if not "hard").
