Well I just completed my install of windows and for some strange reason I am getting corrupt downloads. Occasionally, my downloads will be fine but most of the time the are corrupt. I have been able to update using windows update but I can't install IE7 or Malicious Software Remover. I am running XP Pro SP2. I used all the updated drivers, etc. Thanks.

hey has anyone firgured out why the hell the Lan ports drop out after coming out of suspend?! its driving me freaking crazy, a reboot fixes the issue. I turned off "let computer turn off device to save power" , installed the latest realtek drivers dated from july. Still no dice

I may just order one of those Rosewill pci-e nic cards..more bandwidth anyway

any ideas on this issue with nic though..

    thanks
Try disabling in bios setup, the unused Lan port.
No problems, using the 5.673.712.2007 (WinXP) driver dated 7/12/2007.

at one time my Areca Raid card could handle high PCIe bus speed but not anymore...it won't post beyond 110 mhz (i can raise it above 110 in windows)..use to get up to 125 mhz for posting purposes...the card must have deteriorated after a period of time running at that high of mhz...no deterioration in performance other than loss of the higher mhz capability...it is still a "great" card!

the limit of the intel chipset is 120 mhz..anything above that will not work for that chipset.

Actually in my personal systems I run the RAM lower (around 900) due to better latencies and timings but when testing boards it is important to find the limit of the board. I am able to get tighter timings and higher DDR2 speeds on the ASUS and Gigabyte boards with 4GB of memory so I think it is valid to try and figure out why the abit board is not performing in the same manner.

I got the Samsung's loaded up with windows XP Pro & run ATTO & HD Tack see attachments.

The pair of 250GB Samsung Maxline 3's (7V250F0) have a slightly higher burst & average read than my older Hitachi Deskstar 80GB's all be it with a slower random access time.

I will leave the rig running @ 462 x 8 for a few days & see if I still get the iastor errors that I am getting with the Hitachi's.

ok well still on the stock Bios: was able to get DDR2 1200 speeds and 4.15Ghz.
I know, I know...probably shouldve took the time to get the max FSB! Im too impatient, Im hoping the newest BIOS with the improved latency will improve my Super PI scores...will report Back if anything changes

Since when does anyone on XS run within Spec
Better not overclock your processor might take it out of spec!
    just joking man!

Just bought one of these boards. Seems like its one of the first really solid abit boards in a while. Been pretty sceptical about Abit since my Nforce 3 AGP piece of $%*! from them.

that's ok guys..make fun of me...i tried it with two different kinds of high end memory and i lost a few points in benchmarks!...1T is not ready for prime time unless the memory sticks can handle it.
