I have a L628B that is capped at 506 on air/water but when on singlestage, can do 520+ (didn't test higher).

    Great board... even better review!

correct - if you look at the photo of the bracket you'll see that there are three headers 2 for firewire and one for USB

@johnny, what version of uguru are you using?

also, have you noticed anything strange about your ddr2 vtt voltage?

mine is less than 1/2... almost 1/3 at most vdimm settings

    @ Johnny Bravo:
Do you notice any PWM noise? Some people have complained about it.

Have you fixed the 2900 Cross Fire issue yet?
I was considering one of these boards & a CF set up.
nVidia & SLI are just too damned expensive.

I might have an XFX XXX 7950GX2 for sale if anyones interested. DD Water blocks attatched atm & running 850/800.

Can someone explain to me this statement? What is 'native connection' and if I have installed my OS on a raptor for example, where is it suppossed to be plugged into if not the mobo? Slightly lost here. . .

    Sorry mate let me explain:

by native connection I meant the SATA controller on the southbridge, the IDE on this board is provided by another chip a JBMicron then then "talks" to the southbridge. Understandably these extra links in the chain will cause the performance to decrease plus the JBMicron controller isn't that great to start with

What you're planning to do is fine, just use the SATA headers that are being controlled from the southbridge. What you shouldn't do is run an IDE based hard drive off the IDE from the JBMicron, because it'll run slow.

We're talking about IDE drives as in the old ATA100/133 drives right?

How much slower are we talking about? I yet have 3 PATA drives + DVD-RW so if I get this board I'll still prolly run the DVD-RW + 1 PATA drive of that controller and the other drives on my pci controllercard. Not that it matters that much as I use the drive only as a storage anyways.
