    That's where my interest lays.
For the grill to go into a Lian-Li roof without clashing visually.
You've got the black cases covered but it's too strong a contrast to use with a silver brushed al case.
Chrome doesn't work with brushed al too well either

    Looks good.
Must say, I looked through a lot of pages in the WC showcase thread last night and found plenty of examples of black cases with black grills or chrome ones. Conspicuous by their absence was top mounted radiators with grills in silver, brushed aluminium cases.
With or without grills, top or front mounted multi-fan rads mounted in silver cases are as rare as rocking-horse ...The odd case with individual fan covers are around. Mainly MM owners tired of black MM cases, I suspect.

wow that looks nice... color matches too... question about the screws you used... included or did you have to buy them seperately?

    So, sorry I won't be a customer.

In a world where everyone uses undervolted Yate SL's? Id be worried about protection on 80MM tornados, but on a 1000> rpm 120mm fan.

Any plans on making grills that fit the MCR and GTX radiators?

The 4 socket caps in each corner will be the same as the ones provided, the socket caps going through each fan corner was bought seperately as I tapped my radiator to 6-32.

The ones which will come with the grills will be pan head self tappers (number 6 1 1/2" long) as thermochill radiaors do not come tapped.

As for other radiator grills, I'm not sure. AC Ryan and now kickbox with P-PC's have pretty much flooded that market but who knows.

I really hope we can do the Alu versions, that are anodised for people who want more than black.

If it ain't watercooled, I don't wanna know.

    ok - quick update.

These now come with screws (I think I covered all angles of attack with them)

I dont understand why people wouldnt buy without the screws considering no other grill on earth comes with screws and these are the cheapest (by far) thermochill rad grills in the UK at the moment, with screws this is now one hell of a deal. Probably why they are going out the door nicely.

So updates coming to the site soon, showing the grills off better and showing whats included with them.

Rev2 is in the works - all colours all finishes. However they will be a while. People who want black are best off buying this.

US retailers will be informed before the weekend on pricing

    Thanks
    Tom

IMHO....slotted screws should be outlawed at all costs....followed by phillips screws. Both are quite subject to stripping out the screw's head.....something a tad more difficult to do with a Torx screw or a hex head screw/bolt. Almost wish we in the U.S. had adopted the Canadian screw standard....the Robertson screw. Hard to turn/strip a square headed screw/bolt.

About to be followed by one for me too, I think.
We'll see how it looks on a silver case. There's other black parts contrasting with the silver. So it may work visually. If not, I can sell it on and by then your Rev2 colour options might be out.

Well, we managed to find some aluminium that doesnt ruin the laser cutter (aluminium reflects more of the laser back apparently, which is why we were reluctant to rip out 100's of grill and break the £350k machine )

Well, that above is the first one - we shall anodise it next week and see how it fairs.

Maybe soon we can have aluminium ones in mass production too.

i still prefer the powdercoated ones :p

    Hey

If you want one drop me a mail through the shop

They ARE available in the sense, I have hundreds on my workshop bench. The anodiser is flat out so none have been anodised black yet. I can sellyou a silver one no problem though.

Oooh ... now ... firstly are the non mounting screws one the same size ?
Because, the only reason you would want without the mounting screw is if you weren't going to case mount .... price is the same so if you were case mounting someone may as well drill if for you, right

But if some of us wanted to use them as good looking and low restriction fan guards, we wouldn't want them exceeding the dimensions of the Rad ... they wouldnt look right asthetically.

If you had one thats meets those specs, and was polished to a mirror shine ...
Well I for one would stick it straight on my order
Thermochill do some nice steel chromed ones, but mirror polished aluminium is far better .... oh sorry showing my biker side now

BTW .. how thick are the alu ones ?

they are the same specs as the black powdercoated ones. same sizes etc.

I will get dimensions up. The non mounted ones are better in my opinion as the mount points arent really needed, the case is sandwiched between the grill and the fans anyway.

    they are 3mm thick

The only reason I see the usefulness of the mounted versions is to avoid seeing the grill slip a bit around and lock it in place. Myself, I'll get the mounted version for sure.

Yup, after trying to install a radiator grill without mounts, I can say it's a right pain in the bum.

    Mounted for me also

Does anyone know if the ACRyan grills fit Swiftech MCR series? I've drew a radgrill for the MCR220 radiator.

If it ain't watercooled, I don't wanna know.

I was able to fit an AC Ryan grill on an MCR320 without issue, with the fans inbetween the grill and rad. The AC Ryan grills feel really chintzy though, when compared to the chilledpc grill and especially an AC grill.
