For a december timeframe, I'd be betting on 2-2.2ghz for servers with perhaps a bin higher for a desktop single socket fx - but I'd be pleasantly suprised if we do see 2.6-2.8ghz products retail.
If all we see are 2.0 ghz cores then other in apps that can take advantage of four cores the 3.0ghz athlon x2 will perform better than the phenom x4. As such I think AMD would be wise to hold off releasing a desktop chip until it offers a performance benefit over the current lineup - servers would generally benefit more from the additional cores and so a release even at 'slow' speeds would be welcome there as soon as possible.
But as you can get a 6000+ so cheap now, why would anyone upgrade to a 2.0ghz x4 unless it was similarly priced? And if your looking at a new build I can't say that am2 looks all that appealing...
