    Thanks Viper !

I did some tweaking, got the E6600 to sit at 3.5GHz on stock air, the RAM on a 4:5 divider running 4-4-4-12
The HD2900XT will run over and over on 860/1000 on stock cooling without a hitch

    New 3dmark06 score

    New 3dmark01 :P

12k 3dmark 06 with only 3400mhz! i didnt think this video card could do that but anyways, your cpu could be higher.

Im pretty sure you could reach 13k.. if you swap with a 8800GTS heheh

The FEAR result is... IMPOSSIBLE, make sure the SShadows are enabled for sure, you can't enable SShadows with AA at the same time, first you have to enable SShadows, apply it, then you enable the AA you desire.

For SURE its NOT working properly. I get 35fps at 1600x1200 FAA@4x, FA@16x, SShadows enable with my 2900XT@850/2000 using 8.38 RC7 and my E6400@3,2ghz.

You should get around 50-55fps with SSHadows enable and AA@4x at 1280x1024

    Anyway, good job!

Ok, I have a better FEAR test here, more accurate reading of what performance will be under normal settings with catalyst AI on.

Good results you are giving to us
Let's compare to GTX with old old drivers. I've made some testing in the beginning of the year
    HQ
    FEAR SLI@650/2100 max ALL AA4 AF16 + SS on

    FEAR single@650/2100 max ALL AA4 AF16 + SS on

SLI 655/2120 /3dmark settings and CPU 4g HP and some LOD/ max ALL AA4 AF16 + SS on
    [/QUOTE]

It looks in this particular game Nvidia is far away(more then 80-100$, and less with 50W ). I don't have this game right now to test with the newer drivers, but considering 3dmark numbers 10-20% improvements in FEAR are sure

Oooh, I'm surpised, I thought 2900 would deliver better performace. Here is my Opty 170 with 7900GT SLI
I'm pretty sure these were all maximum setting in-game including soft shadows (I wouldn't have wanted it any other way)

    Opty 2965mhz (755/930)

Guys i got some problems with the 2900XT cards and the 3dmark benches.

    First of all i couldn't run 3dmark03/05/06.
I am double clicking the Shorcut and then the screen freezes on the first signs of the 3dmarks.
I went to the properties and rename them to xxxxxxx -nosysteminfo in order to run them.

But then, FM does not approve nothing

I saw som scores on FM with 2900...how this came?

Furthermore, when i run AM3(with the old or the new .dll) ,the bench ends and then, black screen everywhere. Ctrl+Alt+Del to end the task and everything is ok again. But there is no score...shi(f)t.

Any ideas when FM will apporve the drivers and when the 7.5 will come out?

Problems with CF goes on....the CCC opening and closing every 20 seconds....

    I got the 7.4 Catalyst..
When Mercedes brought their C111 to Talledega years ago and blew away the closed course record did it count? Yes..
That was a "factory" car and a "one of" that no one could buy and was never sold.
Records are records and that is a fact so get over it.

why in 3d05 gets high scores? there's a particulare reason?

it's possible that the card will always have low fps, even with good drivers?
maybe all the new features of the card are useless in games... i dunno :\

anyway i think that game developers should work better on engines....
i mean... look at oblivion... 10 fps for crap graphics... not like valve's source engine: good graphics and 200fps.

    yes, i'm idiot

Welcome to XS Stunt0r...at some points we were all idiots...(except for a few with green text in their names that were born with an additional section in their cerebral cortex with oc knowledge )

Good to have you. Looking forward to more games being benched in this thread...would love to see how HD 2900 handles some of the newer summer releases

the HD2900XT is very strong in 3dmark, especially 2k5, I don't know exactly why.

    I did some PREY tests
All run on 1280x1024, MAX ingame settings, 4xAA/16xAF

    New 3dmark scores!

    3dmark06 - 12421 - stock cooled CPU/GPU

    3dmark05 - 21216 - stock cooler CPU/GPU

I don't think so. I pushed my old 8800GTX 640MB with a QX6700 the best I could do was 12,670 Now, with the HD2900XT I've passed it with just an E6600:

    E6600@3.870Ghz w/ HIS HD2900XT 890/1000

Is anyone having problems with Prey? It's like hit or miss, right after I load or resume a game the damn thing freezes. Anyone?

Edit: Nevermind, I found out I need to disable AI in CCC. All is well.
