    [Denny]BBA HD2900XTX GDDR4 1GB SI OEM version

Those are SI OEM card. Ati is going to release to workstation market. but there should be another version 9.5" GDDR4 XTX for end user market.

    Hardware
    Mobo: Asus P35 P5K Deluxe
    CPU: Intel QX6700 @ 411x9 3.7G
    RAM: GSKILL F2-8000PHU2-2GBHZ @ DDR2 1030 CL4-4-3-5
    VGA: BBA ATi HD2900XTX 1024 GDDR4 @ 8.374 bios Single Card test
    HDD: Hitach 80GB 7200RPM 8MB
    OS: Windows XP SP2
PSU: PC Power & Cooling 1WK

    Default Single Card

OC max single card on air 870/1152

there is sth bother me. it is only report XT not XTX. but GDDR4 and 1GB are ok. i wonder why.
under 3Dmark, 05 is killing G80. 06 and 01 increase a lot too by using 8.374 driver. i am going to try 8.38 soon. hopefully it can increase about 10%+

it is all about DRIVER now

    add single card info

Hey Denny, could you test please both XTX and XT with 8.38 and same setup? Would be great to see difference between XT and XTX with same drivers.

    Thankyou Denny!

Please can you confirm those results are single-card? (for rumour prevention)

Score scaling seems slower than on G80 as you overclock?

As I do not plan to buy this card I have not looked much at results of it. This is one of the first... But as I just two days ago ran some 3DMark06 with stock aircooler on an unmodded 8800GTX (671/1100) and only 3530MHz on my CPU I react on your 3DMark06-result. I got 14746p. Also I got higher points in 3DMark01 with same settings. Did not save it though.

But if I have understood this correctly, this AMD/ATI card has insane clocking potential wich (probably) make theese cards the new 'king of 3DMark'?

And seeing some CF-results will be interesting as CF with other cards usually performs ALOT better than single cards.

Thanks for sharing, looking forward to see your CF-results!

By workstation market, do you mean CAD/3D graphics? Can't think of any
other portions of the workstation market that would require a powerful
    video card.

If that's the case it would be great! A powerful card optimized for both
    gaming and 3D graphics applications

but the point now is driver, nvidia has this card for almost 9 mo (i got sample G80 on Sept 06).

i wonder how well can R600 do (to me R600's SPEC is much better than G80)

This is exactly what I would like to see.

Denny, would you say this sample of XTX that you have is running the way it should and better than previous samples which exhibited no performance gain over a 512mb GDDR3 card?

You mentioned ATI is releasing a 9.5" version to end users. Do you know when this is or is that the rumoured Q3 card at 65nm?

Those overclocks are definitely sweet, however, with a 4 heatpipe based cooler like that current card getting tested obtaining high clocks, I can't expect the 2 heatpipe based cooler on the retail XT doing the same. If heat really is the issue on limiting overclocks surely the 4 heatpiped cooler would do better than the two as they are under the same design (cooler that is).

Is it asking 2 much for some crossfire bench's/action??? I dont think so, especially if they want to sell these cards as a NV "Punisher".....

Very nice card. Overclocked 01 and 05 seems rather low compared to scores with default card clocks.

CF needs to wait til next week. i don't have CF bridge....

8800Ultra is really good on 06 but R600 is geting closer

GDDR4 is too hot, 512MB GDDR3 XT is not as hot as XTX. I had XT for about 1 day and they overclock about the same as XTX

Nice results. I'm anxiously awaiting some more game benches with the 1GB version in things like Oblivion and F.E.A.R.

Very nice card. Overclocked 01 and 05 seems rather low compared to scores with default card clocks.
That is because you are almost 100% CPU bound there. clocking the card doesnt give you much benefit.
Use 5GHz CPU and do similar GFX OVCK and you would see bigger gain.

stock the card is powerful, not very impressive oc'd though

    with 8800gtx 655/2100 and e6600 at 3870mhz I get less than 1000pts less in 05 and 06
    21,500 in 05 and 13500 in 06 roughly
