I see what I see, and you see what you see. I can't make you see what I see, but I can tell you what I see is not what you see. Truth is, we see what we want to see, and what we want to see is what those around us see. And what we don't see is... well, conspiracies.

OCW says RV630XT scores ~5600 06 and ~12.5k 05
(In other words, similar, if not slightly better compared to stock 8600GTS)

ouch, that score is with the 1GB XTX version? I thought it was for the 512mb XT variant. I found it quite low meaning the actual XT score will be even lower than this.

I hope these newer drivers are actually legitimate improvements and not 'optimizations' that the card suffers IQ wise just because they are desperate to get scores up when competing against the already well performing Nvidia cards.

Still May 14, AFAIK.

Rumor mill says RV610/RV630 may not see retail until June though, and the only part I seem confident at this point on having first-day availability is the XT 512MB. Gibbo confirms that by saying

@drivers...Have faith. I think it's even worth waiting to see results with the MAY (7.5) cats, the set beyond the supposed miracle drivers, as those are the set that are supposed to bring features such as MSAAA (~CSAA) to the CCC and such (rather just the alpha texture EATM hack job). Hopefully they will be out by the review date.

MSAAA isn't CSAA, it's TRMSAA. Transparency Multi-sampling Anti-Aliasing. CSAA is coverage sample anti-aliasing. They are not one in the same.

Also reported here. This and the 8800 GS should bring the 8600GTS at a decent price tag. Bring on the competition!

18 months down the line my x1800xtx/pe do just fine in games.
Stock its ok but overklocked its really nice.

I dont mind a x2900xt, so if someone buy one and isnt pleased with it, just give me the card and i be happy to double my points in 3Dmark and add some fps to my games.
Just PM me about the card guys.

I like the sapphire x1900GT/x1950pro cooler more. I´m buying a GFX card not a hotrod.

There is no telling if these are real or not, but here are some benchmarks from http://hdtvsg.blogspot.com/2007/04/a...enchmarks.html

X6800 CPU, 2GB of DDR2-800.

3Dmark06
Radeon HD 2600XT - 5760 marks
GeForce 8600GTS - 5900 marks

3Dmark05
Radeon HD 2600XT - 11652 marks
GeForce 8600GTS - 11500 marks

FEAR (1600x1200)
Radeon HD 2600XT - 29 fps
GeForce 8600GTS - 29 fps

If anyone can get a confirmed price on this unit we can see how it stacks up against the overpriced 8600 GTS.

If numbers are real (no doubt for 8600GTS ) then question is how 65nm RV630 will OC and where are his strengths?

I'm waiting for ATI release to make my purchase decision and I would prefer GPU which can do F@H and gaming, not only gaming .
