OMFG Im so pissed... my mobo got fried before I even fired up the goddamn PC !
I flipped the PSU Switch, the mobo led flickered, smoke came from the mosfets just under the last PCI slot, something burned (couldnt see what but something burned) and then the mobo led became solid...
I can fire up the PC just fine, everything is on, but there is no image on screen. Since my case doesnt have built-in speakers I cant see if its beeping... How could something be fried before even firing up the PC? Howing ridiculous...
Now I'll have to RMA the board, but this is really pissing me off as I waited over a week for the 8800GTX to get here, and this happens... and with the holiday Ill be looking if I get a replacement within 2 weeks,,,
SUCKS!

i tried save settings to a text file in bios .. it gives me a .CMOS file .. which is useless ...

Well i'm now 18 Hours Orthos Blend Stable might be crazy yeh, but I wanted to make sure it was 100% stable at stock clocks.
Because of the vDIMM problem i'll probably RMA the board (hey, it's free) for peace of mind and all that.
And because this RAM is so damn touchy with its volts i'll probably sell it for different stuff.
Dunno how much Gkill F2-8500PHU2-2GBHZ PC8500 4-4-4-5 would go for![]()
OK guys, back to basics. I'm running this 9x333 = 3000MHz with 1.264 vcore after droop. 2 hours dualcore prime95 stable. I couldn't get 3600MHz stable even with 1.464 vcore, so it's not worth it. Both cores are now at 48c with full load.

i don't get it, my e6700es needed originally 1.5375 bios or 1.47 after droop load to get 3.6.
now i need 1.49 with droop mod in place.
this board needs about .05 to .06 more volts to get 3.6 stable than my bad axe 2 needed.
interesting.
but my new 6600 only needs 1.36 bios for 3.6![]()
umm how u save bios setting to a file anyone??

A couple of screenshots from february when it was below zero outside (and so was my computer.) As you can see, 500fsb is no biggie when the NB temp is below 20 degrees celcius (my cooling liquid was 7 degrees celcius so i'm guessing the NB must have been that cool)
I also tried 9x462 = 4158 MHz or something like that, but I seem to have misplaced my screenshot... dualcore prime95 was not stable, but I did manage to run superPi
edit: ah yes, here it is. http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/5...rpi32mjrg2.jpg
The potential IS there, I just need a goddamn fridge where to put my computer.

wow, this board REALLY undervolts the memory.
i just used the memory measuring spot found on the pervious page and...
2.3 volts bios is something like 2.15 actual.
i got some ballistix that are rated for 5-5-5-15 @ 2.2 ddr2-1000 that wouldn't run orthos at 2.2. after changing voltage to 2.35, it actually started to work.
anyone else getting a big droop in mem voltage?
Ok, when my memory was running underclocked (800Mhz) Orthos is 18hours plus stable.
At the same voltage (2.35v BIOS, 2.40v PC Probe, 2.27v Actual), the ram fails Orthos after 3 seconds at 1000Mhz.
try a different divider.
try... 8 x 450 with mem at 1000 or 1800/1000 unlinked
i've found the 8x mult to be nicer than the 9x mult at least to me
My CPU is at stock, 9x266. I just set unlinked, 1066/1000 =/
EDIT: Ok, notched vDIMM up from 2.35v to 2.425v @ 1000Mhz, and it lasts longer than 3 seconds.
Still, at 2.425v in bios, it only reads 2.29v actual with a volt meter, but 2.48v in Everest/PC Probe

This is driving me insane. Tested the ram in a friends pc and theres nothing wrong with it. I think i'll sell it and buy some CellShocks maybe.
Grr, now to find a buyer.
