Hi All
The one on the left.Noticably more fin area and larger but a smaller fan,seems to be 70mm on new against 80mm on old.
Popped it on my Opteron 146 running 3Ghz in the DFI RDX200.

Hi all... I'm a happy owner of a Opteron 165![]()
Rock stable @ 1.35v on a DFI NF4 Ultra-D. I've tried boot at 300 of HTT with 1.425v, but I got a error in a windows vista file (corrupt file).
My results:
9x289 = 2600 @ 1.30v -> Freezed after a while using Folding@Home
9x289 = 2600 @ 1.35v -> Rock Stable with Folding@Home 24/24
9x300 = 2700 @ 1.245v -> corrupt file in windows while booting
Please tell me somethings:
- Do you think I can go a little higher?
- Could it be a problem because I'm using Vista? Maybe with XP Pro I wouldn't have this problem?
Here's the stepping of cpu:

Ups... forgot to leave here that infoand need to correct one thing:
9x300 = 2700 @ 1.425v -> corrupt file in windows while booting
I have a Scythe Ninja heatsink with a SILVERSTONE FM122 120MM fan.
Unfortunately, my currents temps are a little bit high... I need to put some new Artic Ceramic on my cpu.
With cpu fan @ full speed:
Do you think it might be trouble with your RAM? If you are stable at 2.6@1.35, 2.7 should be almost stable with 1.425, if we apply the .1v:100MHz rule that nearly all of these seem to follow. Try 1.45 and maybe play with some dividers and RAM settings

I have 2x1GB G.Skill PC3200ZX and they are already with the 140 divider, which means that they are at their default speed. I'm giving them 2.7vdimm, but my DFI overvolts them at almost 2.8v.
RAM settings? Eish... don't understand anything of that in these boardsDon't know what to change... too confusing

I have the same RAM, try lowering voltage to 2.6 or even 2.5v (the sweet spot for mine). We'll make it easy, post up an A64 tweaker screenshot so we can see if there's any changes that might help you out

@ BRSG:
I also have the same RAM. Please take a look at this thread about the ZX: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...5&page=1&pp=25

Repoman, thx for helping me![]()
WoutZoR: I'll check that thread, thx
Meanwhile, here's a screenshot of A64 Tweaker (I have everything at auto in bios)
No problem. But, your A64 Tweaker SS is screwed up. Keep hitting "Refresh" at the bottom there until the numbers change to something a lot lower, and until the asterisks go away.. you'll know it's right when "Write CAS latency" is 1, that's the only number that works with DDR memory. A value of 2 or above will make the system not boot, or if set in Windows, freeze immediately
That thread basically gives you good starting numbers though. I was gonna give you numbers that I've found myself to be the best, most are the same as in that thread (a few of mine are a bit tighter).

OK, found out that it's a problem with A64 Tweaker... look at this screenshot from Central Brain Identifier

Real quick question.
When overclocking, do yall set the PCI clock synchornization mode to 33.33mhz? I just realized I've had mine on auto the whole time, and have been stuck at a wall at a little above 2.5ghz (278fsb), and my stepping is suppose to be one of the better ones. I've messed around with memory settings, I'm almost positive I can rule it out (OCZ platinum that's underclocked to 180mhz).
I am not very lucky with my opty 170 CCBBE 0615 EPMW
I am getting only 2740 Mhz from it at 1.41v
I tried 2750 with more volts (up to 1.47v) but fails orthos and pi in a few minutes. I tried before with an AsRock dual sata and now with an Asus A8N32 Sli de luxe and still not able to clock any higher. Temps at full load are around 55C.
I though the chip could reach 2.8 - 3.0 but not luck here![]()
I guess my opty doesn't like volts (Tcase by core temp is 59C)
