First test run of my new unit and the new freeze pack controller.
    The controller worked perfectly.
Haven't tried the software yet, we'll get there sooner or later.

You can then take the "next step" stand alone wireless low power RF display (0 to1 dbm)that can be set on desktop or anywhere covenant. Then you don't always have to bend over for those who set units on the floor.
    The Laws of Thermodynamics say:

Zeroth Law: "You must play the game."
    First Law: "You can't win."
Second Law: "You can't break even."
Third Law: "You can't quit the game."

Do you wanna Play Thermodynamics ???????? I forgot "you must"

This is a nice idea, it will be more like a "gadget" for gamers that can't see the temperature on the tray.

I have made the extension cable so that i can split the controller from the LCD and it work great. Now I am think of getting another LCD screen then split the cable that run from the controller the LCD into 2, so i can run the extra 1 up my case and connect the second LCD near the top. I am sick off have to bend all the way to the floor to check my evap temp.

I just wonder is it possible to do that?

Yes, you can do this, it will work. Take care to use shielded cable in order to avoid interference.
In case you use two different types of lcd, you will propably have a problem adjusting the contrast. If you adjust for one lcd then the other might be too dim. If this happens you can use an extra trimmer for the one of the lcds.

Just completed a serial LCD that can get the temperature value out of the controller's serial and display it.

Additionally with the same board, just a jumper change, it can display anything you want from any windows terminal program (ex Hyperterminal) so it can be used as a standalone serial display.

If anyone is interested I will make some units. PM me for further info

Is it possible for the controller to power a second LCD on same cable, or split it some how?

Also the software does not work in vista, is there a work around for that?

I answered that for icywater 2-3 messages before.
The cable will be splitted so that each pin from the controller, goes to both lcds at the same pin#

About vista, we will work on that.

microsoft changes windows and nothing works.. Great.. When i steel some time from my phd a will give a look to Frosty and see what can be done for Vista. If i had wrote this program in VB it will have been working now (but i wouldn't be a programmer then VB sucks)..

Here you can find the latest versions of Dr Frosty (currently 1.50).
    Dr Frosty
For vista please try the standalone version and tell me if it is working right. I have tried the standalone version on my laptop that runs Vista and the program started without problems but unfortunatelly i dont have a controller right now to check if all the functions operate normally.

thanks for the info sacha35. If the standalone version works ok then i must find a new installer.. I was using installshield and this must be the problem for Vista..

Yes mate it just will not install with the Installer as you know, there is a compatibility problem with it, but as said the standalone version works like a dream.
