It might be a good idea to email them and ask if this is the "so-wanted" 1.03 revision.

    IIRC,

    00Z is China
    00T is Taiwan

Once again, I don't know for sure. People with Taiwan boards check their boxes, my China board says 00Z.

OK so i tried out this new bios and as far as I can tell its pretty much the exact same as the 1002 bios. At this point i just feel like they just renamed the 1002 beta bios and called it official. I haven't been able to clock my ram any higher at all. As for the cpu it seems pretty much the same I can't get my voltages any lower.

After a bit more testing it seems like it might even be less stable but the difference is negligible.

I wrote an email.. here's the reply.

Both Mainboards Asus Striker (sound, 2x G-LAN, SATA II RAID); Art. No.: GPEA69 and Asus Striker extreme (sound, 2x G-LAN, SATA II RAID); Art. No.: GPEA68 differ merely in 2x eSATA controller which the extreme variation owns more.

you think a better OC can be achieved by putting some good cooling on the NB?

well it gets hot even at stock speeds , imagine pumping 1.6 volts through it, a good fan placed nearby will help OC surely and stability in general... Mien wouldn't boot at 500mhz from Bios with the stock heatpipe and a fan, now with the watercooling 500mhz is no issue, sadly cannot get it stable as I damaged the board a bit when modding my case... ( dam plier fell onto it, I'm glad it still boots lol max FSB now is 395Mhz )
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Need some advice about OC of this board and let me show what I have:
    -Striker
    -CPU Cooller
    -E6600
    -1 x nVIDIA 8800GTX
    -2 x 1GB = 2GB RAM

How to configure stable OC for these?

    ThanQ

If the NB is hampering oc's then yes, if not then probably won't change much.. only way to know is try it for yourself

And there's no special procedure for removing the stock heatpipes

Well yeah I just did, putted some HR-05 in both SB and NB and MC14 on VRM and overclock improved 10% but still not enough.

I think my RAM is holding me back so what I did was I bought yesterday the G.Skill HZ 2Gb DDR800 pack (the ones with black spreaders like you used on your review) to see if I can get higher overclocking results.

I just hope they arrive with some good D9GMH.

BTW, Eva, how good do the G.Skill sticks respond when using them with the striker? do they like each other? I might buy another pack soon to have 4Gb of RAM.

i'm just letting you know that my g.skill 800hz didn't respond well to voltage at all. Could be possible its not the ram and maybe just the chipset or something but running at certain speeds i would get more errors the more voltage i put to them. Seems like there were a few other ppl on the forums who noticed that too. about 2.3v seemed to be the sweet spot.

Could be possible that the heat spreaders were preventing any further heat from getting dissipated. I haven't tried removing my heat spreaders but its also possible that i have GCT and not GMH.
