    New Striker Bios 1102

Flashed it via EZ flash went fine, testing now, seems NB voltage has been reduced ( to prevent damage maybe by overvoltage) set 1.4 in bios asus probe and bios read out 1.35, CPU Vcore seems fine 1.45 set in bios 1.43 read out via bios and probe...drops under load to 1.41 :p

More testing , flash at ya own risk !! It's still Beta !!

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

ok let me rephrase my question.

Is this 1102 bios from asus or did someone just write their own bios?

also where can I download this 1104 bios?

this an official beta bios leaked by one of the german testers, 1104 is not yet released as they are still testing raid , unless that testing is completed succesfully they won't give it to the community...

Runs fine here no issues (yet) overclock etc remains the same just the auto voltages seem lower...

    Nice find Leeghoofd.

Do we have a list of fixes at all? Maybe this BIOS that fixes some of the 4x1GB RAM issues people have been having.

Yeah, when I get home from work tonight I'll test it out.. My RAM is actually not listed on Corsair's website as compatible with the Striker. It is funny because I checked the website before I bought the RAM and I could have sworn that it WAS listed as compatible..

well I gave this bios a shot and flashed it this morning.

So far so good. Seems like my memory is a bit more stable than before but its still a bit too soon to tell.

    Just tested it now.
    Stock voltage have reduced of:
    0.2 for FSB like 1.4v to 1.2v
    0.2 for Nforce like 1.7v to 1.5v
    0.25 for HT(SPP-MCP) like 1.45v to 1.2v

Something more interesting, Linkboost have diseapear from my bios setting.
    Reducing my SPP/MCP PCI-E from 3150Mhz to 2500Mhz.

Does some of you know the possible reason of it ? Can I up it from somewhere else ?

I will bench to see the real effect so far.

Apparently, nVidia is removing linkboost from all 6x0i based motherboards, see nVidia's spec page.

    Almost everyone was recommending to disable linkboost anyway. Xbit labs suggested that linkboost was the problem behind the SATA issues;
"This was the case with the well-known Serial ATA issues with the nForce 680i SLI motherboards, which eventually led Nvidia to disable LinkBoost technology for the core-logic (meaning that the chipset contained problems, not mainboards) and causing manufacturers like Asustek to disable it too."

How unfortunate. Useless marketing buzz resulted in it being pulled.

Seriously though, nVidia needs to get their act together.
Seems like they are getting just a little too big for their britches sometimes.

linkboost is a piece of crap anyway. just causes more problems than its worth.

Turning it on and off most of the time doesn't even make 1 frame difference in a game.

I don't push my bench too far but it seems linkboost only provide a little improvement in SLI config and not in 1 card config. Anyway, it's true that I can push my GPU and CPU overclock a little bit more just by disable this option.

I do not test the mem stability yet but i will update soon.
