wow, Abit is putting the Fatal1ty label on everything these days.
What a TERRIBLE spot for the Floppy connector...
I suspect the intended application of such a board is for a HTPC where a floppy is probably not used.Originally Posted by xVeinx
Besides, with Vista, the floppy is obsolete... the only thing that previously required a floppy was driver installations during setup and that can now be handled with a flash drive. Even BIOS can be updated from a flash drive... who needs a floppy anymore?

I'm wonder how it will cope with overclocking....

The new default mobo for elite gamers who need a HTPC rig?![]()
Sourcing parts for a mildly over clocked abacus.
Nice mobo for an HTPC![]()
I wonder what Anal1ty Wendel adds to the design ? Maybe he spots campers hiding behind the southbridge heatsink and blasts them with his railgun before rocketboosting over the DIMM sockets.

i'm also happy to see more attention to given to the matx form factor. i'd be much more excited if it didn't have that UT jackoff's name on it. but i'd rather see more narrow boards, rather than short boards. ie: giga s3. this size is much more useful in an htpc case than the matx boards.

uhhhh ok...
I like the onboard HDMI and X700 though looks like Toslink too... pretty cool if you have a high end home entertainment center with digital Audio and an HDMI capable HDTV.
the only non HTPC friendly thing about this is the SINGLE PCI.... so where do I put my TV capture card after I add a premium sound card?
And what's with the optimistic inclusion of TWO PCI-e 1x slots... GIVE ME MORE PCIs if all the asshats at the various expansion card companies aren't going to make PCI-e 1X devices why include them on motherboards?
High-end soundcard maybe?Originally Posted by citat3962

vista has absolutely nothing to do with needing a floppy or not, its absolutely determined by what you do with your system. as for Raid drivers you also need to realise that raid driver programs look for a floppy to install on NOT a thumb drive or anything else. You can can manually copy and paste them into a thumb drive for sure but not all work like that.
Even the CD's that come with motherboards ask you for a floppy to copy the raid drivers onto,
and for all you windows flashing junkies, good luck. most flashers dont work in Vista.

The ironic thing is that AMD have macci working for them now but you do not see a Macci motherboard even though he probably has a lot more influence on what we want than these two bit gamers and their OEM manufacturer buddys![]()
Go figure.

Finally a good board for mATX C2D users. I myself dont like ATX motherboard, too big, so mATX is nice...
Hopefully it can OC or its not worth it at all..

Outside of the OCing world, no one knows Macci. On the other hand, tons of people know fatal1ty. CPL WT finals were on MTV, he did an interview on 60 minutes, and many other television and magazine appearances. He's also hosting the direct TV CGI. Fatal1ty is practically a household name.Originally Posted by zakelwe
