No just E6600 with 7x multi, I was just trying to get my max FSB

I remember I could do 500Mhz with F4, but that bios had a lot of problems for me.. so I dont want to go back :p

    I believe that I have a memory problem. I tried 266x8 3.00 (ddr 800) and this booted with orthos for 30 min. I tried 266x8 3.33 (ddr 885), 256x8 3.33 (ddr 852) and they wouldn't boot. I then tried 280x8 3.00 (ddr 840) and 420x8 2.00 (ddr 840) and they booted.

    Waiting for the next BIOS.

The 5-5-5-18 was one of the SPD values. I'll try them the next time I do some testing.

    Tried F8i again

I decided to try F8I again and after some initial weirdness, it seems to be fine at my same overclock as on F7. 288fsb and 766 mhz ddr. The bios recovery features seem to act a lot different than with F7 (hence the weirdness). But it is memtest86 and super pi stable here. Very nice overclock for my 2.8ghz presler. I still think this is a great board.

First time poster. I could use some help. I am putting together a new computer with the DS3, 6600, and Corsair 6400. I have been following the subject here and elsewhere about the various hassles with the board and the different bios upgrades. Here's my question.

How do you upgrade the bios without going through Windows. I fried a MB/Bios chip several boards back when Windows suddenly died in the middle of installing a new bios. First time this has ever happened and I learned my lesson. So what do I do? I see posts about something called Q-Flash and people who upgrade the bios before installing Windows. What is Q-Flash and where do you get it? How do you connect to the Internet if you don't have an operating system installed? Are you downloading the new bios on another computer to a floppy or CD and then moving it over? Or could you download a new bios onto a flash drive and would your new system read that as a drive to access during startup?

Sorry if these seem like stupid questions but I have always upgraded my bios through Windows and that is now out. I appreciate any answers, especially detailed ones. If there is a sticky on this somewhere just give me the link and I will read it. Thanks.

What does it mean "you got it out to change plugs".

My board doesnt' have plugs, my car does. Can you be more clear?

Maybe you need to change your 'plugs' again.

    Edit:
I believe this describes the above pics:

A power strip (also known as a plug board, power board, power bar, distribution board, gangplug or multibox) is a strip of sockets that attaches to the end of a flexible cable and allows multiple devices to be plugged in. As such it can be considered a type of trailing socket though that term is more often used for single and double cable mounted sockets. The term is also used to refer to the complete assembly with the power strip on one end and a plug on the other. Power strips are often used when many electrical devices are in proximity, especially with audio/video and computer systems.
