    That is the main question .

    -x1 issue= Can't it be a forceware problem?
    Test this= reinstall windows, dont install nvidia/ati forceware driver yet. Now, check what cpu-z shows.

    I dont think it is the gfx card itself, but bios~~~driver conflict.

    I just remember, i have disabled Firewire and gigabit lan 2, u never know, so try this too.

    People with x1 probs, are u guys using an extra pci card (soundcard or something)?
    Because if have only installed my gfx card , nothing more.
    All I have is the one gfx card...no other slots populated.
    When it's good it's really good...And when it's bad I go to pieces...

    I also only have one card installed. If i move the videocard to the secondard 16x slot, it works in 4x, which is correct. I also have everything disabled in the bios except for one ethernet and sound.

    Anyone know what this JMicron ROM update actually fixes??

    I'm in the process of building a new PC and I think this is the mobo I want. Just wondering if anyone is having any issues running 4x1GB of modules with it? I already have four 1GB Patriot PEP21G6400LL modules. Pretty sure the modules use Micron D9GMH chips?

    Thanks!

    I have never seen the x1 PCIE problem on my setup.

    e6600, p5b-d, 361x9, sapphire x1900xt 512, 500w enermax liberty

    Nothing special about BIOS, except I am running with Speedstep & C1E enabled. (working flawlessly)

    I'm sure it's not the speakers as they were fine on my old system. I'm almost positive that when things get hairy in a game and the cpu(s) are working hard then the sound takes a back seat... atleast this is how it seems.

    I believe you can only use speedstep if you are using the default mulitplier. If you have the multiplier changed then it dosen't give you the option in the BIOS. (I may be wrong, perhaps someone else can confirm this) (oh and you have to scroll down the CPU Config BIOS Page to see it, it's just off the screen)

    well we got to hope that the next bios will fix the 1X issue.
    it seems that every big fix comes with another big bug.

    Go to Asus site and download Intel drivers. Put in folder unzip and doubleclick file with a clean floppy in the drive.

    If I remember right the file is about 15mb.

    I went to p5b delux page at asus and I see drivers for bios, lan, audio, intel storage matrix and thats it. NO chipset drivers. Can you be more specific? I checked intel's website and it only lets youd ownload an autoinstall file not an extractable file. Please help.

    @Menlatin
    Would you be kind enough to tell us your bios settings for volts and mem timings and other feature that u disabled or enabled @8x500 or higher with default multi, and mem freq @1125. And its very interesting that u always had low value on your Tras (960 mh 4-5-4-4 2.15v) Or maybe its your extensive cooling on the chipset that affect it? I have the same sticks as your, mine is 2x512, so tell us ur bios settings pleaseee....

    @TaPaKaH
    I think its the mobo u have thats holding u back, i got 7x470 max with my E6300 week 29 and maybe Kakulukia got 7x478 with his as u can see in his sig

    @BadThad
    I read somewhere in the manual that says 4x1gb sticks wont work due to chipset limitation. So maybe u can read the manual first. I hope im wrong tho

    BTW, i dont see any significant update on that 0804 bios regarding performance (chipset bootstrap thing) or any other bug (sound, pci-e etc)

    i am wondering if the bios senses two GPU's and it is trying to run each at 8X even though the bus width is suppose to handle one core at 16X.

    -it runs at 8x mode because the gx2 are in real ''sli'' in one card. (that is something about the pipelines, in short= 8x is normal)

    -chipset= go to utility and download INF , u will find the chipset drivers in that file.

    -4x1gb is no problem, the only limitation is that windows x32 cant handle 4gig (i thought 3.2gb, but there were a few windows tweaks).
