I'm still awaiting my replacement. Sent it back a week ago and it was tested faulty the day after I sent it. Yet nothing.

Same like I'm gonna get the same treatment I did for the PSU I sent back (I had to wait 2 1/2 months for a replacement to com through for that).

...and scan.co.uk is meant to be good? well they're cc stinks like . Not even a good will gesture on their part or a "sorry" for the length they keep you going. You pay for good service, but noone ever provides it. - On the contrary overclockers.co.uk have always been fine. Only their packaging and prices (bar specials and a few things here and there) are crap imo.
It was a long road and one that is now over. Behold the updatedrig:

Sorry to bother you guys, but I have a quick question ......

I do not believe this effects system performance but at any frequency above 4.0Ghz do you guys get an incorrect Windows CPU frequency of +500 Mhz?

For example at 4.0 Windows reports 4.5, at 4.1 It reports 4.6 and when at 4.2 Windows reports 4.7?

I have done some searching and could not find any solutions .... Thx in advance

Nah, I use CPU-Z v.1.36 and it reads the frequency correct, although it does misread the voltages.

Goes up to 2.45v and I believe it defaults to 1.90v...That is with 0711. didn't spend anytime what so ever with the shipping bios (which I think was 0507)
When it's good it's really good...And when it's bad I go to pieces...

do you have a reference for your 1.9v default setting for Vdimm?

it could be 1.8v...that is the lowest setting.

ive got the chance to buy one of these 2nd hand at decent price. do you guys think it is worth it to get it? already using a DFI 975x/g so my FSB is limited at high memory speeds. will I get an improvemnt with this mobo, i.e. will I be able to achieve higher FSBs?

    cheers.

When you drop the multiplier some software will not recognize the change and calculate your fsb with its original multiplier such as crystal CPU.
    Strange but not to worry

false alarm, after the second restart my pcie link was back at 1X
    -edit-
after upping the SB voltage to 1,7V and unplugging the PSU it seems the pcie link stays at 16X, even after restarts.

My P5B Deluxe just isn't going over 400 FSB. I've tried just about every trick in the book, but to no avail. Even 7x410 won't boot, even if I set every voltage one notch from maximum.

It could be the Corsair DDR800 (CL5), but the sticks run DDR-780 at 4-4-4-10, so hitting 820 with loose timings shouldn't be a problem.

I think I'll just set it to 8x375 and be happy with that, since it's quite fast but stays cool enough. I would appreciate your ideas about that FSB-barrier though...
