    Hamid,

this is the issu we have been discussing for what seems like forever.

if you have the DS3 you can't run the D9GKX ram over 950 stable. SOME and i mean that,, SOME have been able to, but 99% of those cant run that high.

if its the D9GMH then i understand it can run a little higher.
but in general your are up a creek at 1000mhz it just will not go any higher no matter what you do.

SUPPOSEDLY gigabyte has a fix for this, and this is what the F8 beta bios is supposed to fix,, but we have to wait for ken to free up some time to share it with us.

    Martian,

with DDR2 they run insanely low subtimings. and there isnt alot you can do to change that, as you said on auto they are pretty lose, but even to go tighter it doesnt improve speed at all.
ther eis only 1 or 2 subtimings that can actually improve overclocking and its not like its a huge difference.
i think coolaler, freecableguy and a few others did some testing where they talked about adjusting certain subtimings, but good lord that thread is probably long gone unless someone has it in their favorites.

in general the main 4 timings with DDR II are the key. where as with DDR1 and TCCD you really had to fool around with alot of the timings to really make the ram scream. know what i mean.

but, yes i agree they are pretty lose but not much will improve by going tighter.

why we should wait until F8!!?! we need it sooner its another bad support from Gigabyte
I have 2GB Patriot DDR2-800 Micron D9 @ 1:1 1000MHz 5-5-5-12 2.0v I'm sure this is Micron D9 but I want to know which D9 any way to find which chip used without dispart Memory HeatSink?

and in this topic we found another bug with S3/DS3/DS4/DQ6 when you set Vcore lower than 1.2250v your CPU temp (idle and load both) become 15C hotter you can test with your system I hope in future BIOS Gigabyte solve this problem

for some odd reason some boot ups, i dont boot, its like it sits there and i have no beeps no display but the computers running, then sometimes it resets and then still has the same issue, or sometimes i have to sit there and re-start it and then re-start it again to make it finally work, is this a issue with others or am i the only one? i have a e6400 @ 3.3ghz, and at 1:1 ram ratio, and have 2gb of 800mhz crucial ram @ 825mhz, so i dont know whats up i never have issues in windows and i know my memory is a issue because this board doesnt like crucial, and im hoping ill get a fix.

his issue is his issue,, it isnt some wide spread issue that a bunch of people are having,

and hamid you will wait for F8 just like the rest of us are, i been waiting since the day this baord was released for the D9 fix so back of the bus son and wait just like the rest of us.

they have been working on this issue for awhile now and you should be happy that they have it fixed. they are just tweaking the bios.

you cant get it up above 438 and your asking if it hasnt happened yet ? i think you answered your own question.

SUPPOSEDLY the F8beta has the D9 fix.... so we will have to wait and see when Ken has the time to test it on his end and then share it with us.

Probably gonna dump this board for the P5B

I need to use my xfi for music and games.

Yeah, it's dropped out on me twice, but flashing the bios's more work than rebooting, so I'll patiently wait. Or sell and get a P5B, hehe.

Nice one, though i see the DS4 has a more mature beta build...why should they get special treatment?

Us DQ6 owners paid top tollar for the premier model, we should be ahead of everyone else!

hey guys forgive me if this has been already answered in this thread...

i'm having trouble getting this DS3 w/F7 to be stable @ 400mhz. Is there an fsb wall at or around this speed? I have 1stick of OCZ rev2 platinium 800mhz, so i doubt that it's the ram holding me back.
    vcore @ 1.4v
    mem @ +.4
    mch @ +.3
    fsb @ +.2

orthos fails on me within 1~2 minutes.

i'm pretty confidant it's not heat, as the cpu is only @ 32c under load...

    timings are @ 5-5-5-15

so either 1 of 2 things, i think

    a) my cpu can't do 3600mhz
    b) my motherboard can't do 400 fsb

my system specs are in my sig

1.4V in bios may not be enough for 3.6GHz, try 1.4500V, if that deosen't work try 1.4750V.

    f8a

Tried the f8a bios (was on f7). Now able to do 8 x 450, unable to do it prior. Was running 9 x 400 b4. Actually can boot up 8 x 463, but not orthos stable.
