I don't see the MSI version but the eVGA 512-P2-N573-AR Geforce 7900GTO 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail is $256 shipped. 99+ units in stock as of right now, so no rush needed. So MSRP is $250, which makes this card a killer deal if anyone puts it on sale. That might not happen depending on what kind of numbers are in the retail channel. Too late for me. I already pulled the trigger on two.

Gah. I hope these are just reflashed 7900GTX that they needed to get out of the retail channel. There couldn't be enough cores that failed to meet required specs to launch yet another model from multiple vendors.

EDIT: Seems as though the Samsung memory was the issue, therefore the spec change on the bios is memory speed.

She would kill me; its my 3rd GFX this year!!!

anyway xtreme (at least for me) does not mean wasting money just to be the first to show off a DX10 GFX running on DX9 games. xtreme waste of money I would say but xtreme

My MSI GTO has 1.1 for sure, I checked today

And about not telling the wife/girl... why not?

I used to own a 7900GT and I sold it for 220 euros... paid 242.40 euros for this GTO lol... not a bad deal imho

I must say those 3 little chips get very hot indeed... too hot to hold on to
Where normally the little black sink sits, but then on the other side of the card, right between the plastic push pins... unfortunately they're quite small and there's a resistor next to each of them... and the resistor is taller/higher than those chips so they're very very difficult to cool

    You're not telling either one?

I got my cards today. They have the GTO stickers on the front but they're have 7900GTX everywhere else. Even if I get the Sammies with issues not a bad deal for a gaming rig.

No chance of that, not without a volt mod. They physically reworked the cards. The memory maybe 1.1 ns Samsung GDDR3, but with 1.4 ns timings and voltage (1.9V).

I was thinking exactly the same HeavyH20...

It's like BH5 mem, that can do 260 to 270 with 2-2-2 timings @ about 3.6v... BUT if you turn the volts down all the way to 2.9 they'd never do 260 2-2-2... unless you've got magic sticks

This memory needs a voltmod then, otherwise it won't reach its "rated" speeds.
But will this memory die as fast as with a lot of 7900GT cards?
I'd rather not sacrifice this card

Hmmm... default voltage of the 7900GTX mem is 2.12v... this card however measures 1.81v
Now my question is: what voltage is the absolute limit for 24/7 use

My MSI7900GTO overclocks the memory to only 1638 when Atitool crash but the timmings looks tighter than samsung specifications (batch BJ11):

    trc: 31 (35) trcdrd: 10 (12)
    Trfc: 39 (45) trcdwr: 6 (8)
    tras: 22 (25) trrd: 10 (8)
    trp: 9 (10)

    http://www.samsung.com/products/semi...52324QC.htm#sp

in the link above we can read that the timmings of my GTO are the one used for the BC14 which run at 1400 Mhz

I wonder if relaxing the timmings can give 1800 Mhz as the 1.1 ns samsung volts specificatios are 2.0 v +/- 0.1

could anybody post the details timmings of a 7900GTX using Nibitor????

Ive just done the mod that johnny posted with a pencil (HB couldnt find a 2B). Got it up and running at 2.03V... will have a play around later on with a 2b if i find one. Its definatly helped because on the stock 7900GTO bios im hitting higher frequerncys than when i was using a 7900GTX bios with relaxed timings.

Is it better to have 0 Delta in bios or not?
