    Hehe

I`ve got a small leak on suction line, but I repaired it few minutes ago, I`m revacuuming it now, at 17 I must go to driving lessons, and at the evening I will charge autoC and will (I hope) show some nice temps

    so, stay tunned

    Ok, few photos

    HX temp:

Unit totally naked, so the temps aren`t extra low, -25*C HX without insulation is good for me

tomorrow my girlfriend will go to A/C shop and buy some insulation (I must go to school :p) and I will insulate whole unit.

    Insulated

Evap temp at 0,3bar suction pressure (4PSI)

    whole unit :

    Phase Separator

    SLHX before phase separator :

You wanna know HX temp ?

    R290 + CO2

Frosted CO2 line after phase separator

I really have forgotten when charging, that I wanna do the lowest idle temp, I charged it with to big amount of gas and I have 0,3bar suction pressure, so about -100*C I can forget at this momment Tomorrow I will let some some gas out from the unit to make it running in vacuum.

I must say thanks to my girlfriend, she helped me today a lot, she went to the A/C shop for insulation (I can`t today) to city placed 40km (20miles) from our town thanks :*

Today I played a little bit with autocascade to make a lowest temp possible, I`m not lucky now, only -83*C.

I think I will end with trying to hit -100*C at this momment, I will charge it for load and try to have a good load temps.

    A little update.

I bought my first vacuum pump (160$, 2 stage, maybe it`s not amazing, but it will be a lot better than pulling vacuum by small compressor) ! I`m happy I will have it tomorrow, I will pull good vacuum now and fight with autocascade to hit -100*C, maybe now I will make it

Hey Luke, now I see why you wanted to come to London to be with your girlfriend

So London is not the place for her? She returned to you hehehe. Keep her happy its the most important thing.

Oh BTW, nice autocascade man, I take my hat off for someone that use what they have and then make such an awesome unit.

    Little update

I vacuumed my auto-c with my new vacuum pump. Now auto-c has faster pull down and better temps !

I`ve got good ratio of gasses, -76*C@0bar suction pressure (no load yet), HX temp -35*C (R290)

    give me ethylene !

Yeap, pump is great. As you said, I must buy now vacuum gauge...but it probably will be expensive. Maybe you Jinu have one, used ? I don`t need new one.

How do you avoid the dry ice? when I try this - I get dry ice and don't manage very low temps - unless I immediately turn off the system and release the 290 and CO2 and then put it in vacuum - then the evap will hit -70 for the next 1/2 hour.

Anyway - the dry ice has been a problem for me.
