It looks real to me, but then again, his camera might not be accurately reproducing colors and your monitor might not be calibrated with an icm profile.Originally Posted by ted3

what do u guys make of this whole backplate problem... apparently, the heatsink that rests behind the proc is too thick, making it difficult to mount air cooling solutions like the TT BT... thats gonna be a major sticking point for me when it comes down to buying a board

For the moment, I have problems...![]()
I have make test with E6600 (step4) + prommy (-40°C) + Asus P5W DH and the results : 9 x 445MHz 1.7v
With the Gigabyte Q6, problems, problems ??? when I overclock the cpu, reboot and starting a few seconds (black screen), reboot, starting a few seconds (black screen), reboot... I must make a clear CMOS !
With the prommy (-35°C) : 9 x 320MHz (vcore origine or 1.4v, 1.6v, ...) impossibleI don't undestand !
The bios is F2.

Make sure not to go above 2.35V for Vdimm in BIOS ( oc tool ok to raise Vdimm) or th eboard will not post.
The reboot issue at max FSB I have as well. I have spoken to GB support - but so far there is no new bios to get rid of these bugs
Try this BETA BIOS, and please post the result.

I just got this board my self and have everything setup already, just missing the CPU though![]()
Here's a few thoughts: (Cosmetic stuff)
1: Had to remove the Crazy Cool back plate (very simple) in order to install a Zalman 9500LED
2: The SATA ports will be easily blocked by long cards as stated in a previous review. I have a Hauppauge TV tuner PVR-500MCE installed on the 1st PCI slot and it almost blocks 2 of the SATA ports. The tuner is really stuck between the 2 SATA cables, one is actually tilting the card a bit![]()
3: For some reason, I cannot get my PVR-500MCE card to fully fit in the PCI slot. I tried both slots but no luck. It just doesn't go all the way down. I'm hoping it is down enough to work![]()
4: The "copper" heatpipes don't seem that great. Very light and hollow (probably just painted)
I can't wait to actually get this board running!
Come on Intel, release the damn CPU already!

DQ6
pro:
1. a lot of bios options and fsb up to 600, vcore, vdimm
2. MCH for 965 is better than 975, with normal 1.2v i can boot up to 400
con:
1. memory divider has same problem with 975, with high FSB can use DDR2 1000+ option... some hideing timing is not currect
2. too many bios options are NOT working, like say 1.6v+ vcore just won't boot!!!!!!
3. very bad bad bad bios design! you can't change all setting at once, you need to change one option, save, boot up ,change one option, save, boot up again and repeating until everything is done.... this is soooooo gay
4. no program available for soft ram timing adjust
5. not support 7950, CF. nor SLi
6. back plat is not good if you wanna use TQ120!!!!!!
7. too many... not worse to buy one....
conclusion : this board sucks with the current bios, and I don`t think this kind of issues can be solved with a bios update![]()
Thanks for information.
Today, I make test with bios d25 (20 july)..., it's my contact from Gigabyte send to me.
