Any proof to this? Where have you heard this? As far as I know anyone who is using the latest beta 11 of Ati Tool has no choice but to adjust voltage for 2D only as 3D mode has now been disabled. Anyone doing different than I just stated? Anyone's card working fine using voltage in 2D mode?

My card is overclocking HIGHER now while playing with 2D clocks/voltages, I seriously doubt what you are saying is true.

ok good so I am not risking my card by clocking with 2D volts. I take it the new ATI tool automatically disables the services that we used to manually do on previous versions?

I can't wait to get an X1900XTX so we can start all over again. hehe.

Well sell your x1800XT to someone and use that cash to buy a x1900XT!

I am going to start messing with ATITool Beta 11 and see how that works out for me there. The 3D Detection wasn't working for me the last time I tried it though...any suggetions?

For me beta 11 works great. Automatically disabling the service allows you to finally adjust volts and clocks all in one program with profiles to boot from right off the bat. The only downfall is the adjusted voltage sticks the same for both 2D and 3D. Having 1.5v for 2D is a bit much as temps do get quite a big higher on idle then they do at ~1.3v. If my card was running cooler I would definately do this but it is too hot as it is. I hope for a good new cooler soon. I am definately selling my X1800 to put towards the X1900 as then it will cost me $300 canadian difference max which isn't too bad for a whole new toy. I just wonder if it will be the same as the X1800 in terms of software voltage selection etc. I hope it is similar enough to the X1800 that ATI Tool can have support added for it quick.

I was too tired to scramble through the whole topic so im gonna ask this:

i flashed the PE bios and while playing Battlefield2 the clocks dont get higher than the default 600/700 2D clocks... i checked this via Rivatuner.

Should i reinstall the catalyst to get it work?

I never had to reinstall anything upon flashing my card, it just worked. If you don't mind try and properly uninstall the cats and then try again and see how that works out.

are you overclocking the card at all minus from CCC? Did you disable the two ati services?

I got it to work Uninstalled all ati programs and istalled again. I dont really overclock the card while playing and doing other ordinary stuff.

I´ve got it to go through 05 and 06 marks with 795/1800 with cold air and some voltages. Thats without artifacts. Not that good.

I'm trying to flash my BIOS back to stop to see if it stops the monitor signal loss problems but I'm unable to flash back because the current version of ATIWinFlash doesn't contain the force option. If I use the previous version by running it, my whole screen has a big artifact

    Please help!
