Confused? You dont have to be. I made a list of 7900GT and 7900GTX cards (especially the overclocked versions).

No typo - there are two XFX "extreme edition" versions per model.

    comments, suggestions, maybe even 'thanks',
feel free to share it all.

EDIT: just realized somebody is bound to miss the lack of bold print

E-tailers are definately charging more than the projected price. I saw monarch upped their price on the XFX Extreme Edition to $625

I wonder if the extreme editon card will have more potential then the stock cards? I had a PNY 7800gt that came "stock" 400/1000, and I was able to over clock it as high as any other 7800gt that came factory oc'd. I wonder if its still like that with all these models.
    Current Setup:

    -Intel Celeron D OC'd to 3.2Ghz
    -Windows Me with XP theme
    -WD Caviar 20GB Hard Drive
    -Zip drive
    -Jazz drive
    -3.5" floppy drive
    -5.25" floppy drive

The retail/online price is sometimes lower than the projected prices for some "OC" versions. Definetly worth it.

Daveb2012, it is different than 7800's. There is no card with defective sections disabled (7800GT), and there is huge range of clockspeeds being offered (the GTX have higher voltage). This suggests that yields are very good (rate of defects low) -> hence many working chips and thus very low prices. But, some chips will still clock low, while a few high. Normal distribution.

However, you don't want to buy a $300 stock 7900GT (450Mhz) only to find that the GPU only overclocks to 470Mhz, and for as little as $30-$40 more you would get 520-560Mhz out of the box.

Personally, OC version definetly worth it.

I dont think I have to use harsh explicit language to emphesize thats a fricken awesome sweet absolutely faboulous deal. Thats -10% on an already awesome card.. they are dropping prices and it just came out like... yesterday?

    EDIT:
    LINK???

    EDIT: gotcha!!
    http://newsite.pagecomputers.com/sto...t%5Fid=1020780

to put things in perspective, this is typical reaction from forum 2-3 weeks ago.
Am I the only one that sees that it would be completely stupid for them to release the 7900GT and the 7600GT at the exact same price point? I highly doubt the 7900GT will be at the $300 price point because people would have no reason to get the 7600GT at $300 if the 7900GT is $300 also.

I honestly thing this has to be a typo and they meant $400. It seems much more likely to me that the 7600GT will be $300, the 7900GT $400-450, and the 7900GTX $500-550

Pagecomputers is hit or miss on having it in stock. The bad thing is they charge your card and then you have to wait for a refund.

anybody who owns one of the models I dont have info for, please feel free to contribute..

There are still several more brands (mostly in Asia):
    ClubIT, Galaxy, Sparkle, POV

any info on those as well would be nice.
