Yeah, it's too bad I preordered this board too. I think I'll manually set the Vcore, just to be sure. Anyone know about RMAing the proc's at least? Does AMD cover it?

Funny thing is though being Expert has same power design as RDX-200.
I have had my FX55 ClawHammer on Vapo LS running at 1.772Vcore
with no issues to report on the rdx.
Could this be more of an isolated matter to newer 90nm chips ??

i think we need a larger group of results before saying that.. but it could be a possibility at this stage..(90nm CPU)
Are all these fried cases from auto % increase Vcore settings? Sounds like there's a loop filter with a little too much BW
Seriously, this is starting to concern me as I've already got a tracking number for mine so the clock is ticking. Has there been anyone that lost a CPU with fixed/manual Vcore?
I am up and talking with Oskar,
I am pretty sure it's not his prob.
I have known him for while, he is the most aggressive RD I have never seen.
I will ship all my stuff directly to him and do analyze on them.
I do apologize that I gave you guys hype and now things turn out like that.
I strongly believe this is single case not related to batch
I will have the board oskar sent me yesterday on Monday or tuesday.
I am gonna challenge it again. and see what happen.
Stay tune.
mike lost 3 CPUS
sampsa lost a 57 on the sapphire board
This isn't some isolated issue. There's something seriously wrong with these new boards.
Phenom II 940 BE / ASUS M4A79 / HD5770 Crossfire
3770mhz CPU 2600mhz NB | DDR1040 5-5-5-15 | 900/1250
Is there any coverage or insurance for these things (lost super CPUs)? I mean with a CPU like that, I'd get it insured somehow.
Forums are the Opiate of the Masses
more specifically....mike lost CPUs on 2 completely seperate systems. 2/2 of the boards he got killed processors.Originally Posted by afireinside
Heres a question.....there are 20 of these boards on these forums at most and 1/5 is killing processors...how could they not notice this in internal testing or are we beta testers? This high of a % just isnt chance. Sampsa's wasnt even overclocked...

Mike was also at stock on at least one of hisThey have to know there's something wrong. It's not even the chipset. It's the stuff they added. Honestly unless you're having all the hardware handed to you I wouldn't touch any of these new boards with a 10' pole. It's just to much to risk to be the first or gain a few mhz.

Modern Ram, makes an old overclocker miss BH-5 and the fun it was
the ATI boards were dfi also....(wonders to self)
the nVidia boards never had that high of a death rate

Sorry about your CPUs lost. Hopefully DFI will make it up to you. IN the meantime hopefully your sacrafice will save someone else a lot of grief.

I will NEVER buy a board that is any kind of a risk for my CPU or my RAM
