OPB 's perspective of DFI SLI-DR Expert

**UPDATE: For those who got the board and ready to rock, check this:

Besure just plug in your ATX power and 12v 8 pins connector, listen very carefully for the chipset area. and turn on the psu swich on the rear side of the PSU. See if there is the weird sound like high frequency air blow, if yes. don't put your CPU on.

Well, I know what you guys want. I start this thread is not what I wanna show off but help

all users. So let's start it. I will post some pictures later.

    Preview:

As far as I just talked to Oskar tonight, I was kinda surprised that he give me the hint that
the memory timings for expert board and focus have been totally changed. Consequently,

for those who are kinda lazy to find the best setting by just copy all from old nf4 series, you

will be sorry I promise you. especially the TCCD users

So what has been changed? yes, it all about "driving strength", you gotta try every setting

bios have. It might take some time to find the best setting.
So I ask oskar, what would be the key point about all the ram section tune up?
    "It's all up to Vdimm".
He told me that answer I really believe that!!
" For the Vidmm on the old nf4 series, which is abnormal that specially tune up for TCCD so

that cause problem for other types of ram. Therefore, I was thinking about the balance

and adjust something back! After carefully concern, still gave TCCD up ()

    So, Oskar's conclusion is :

If you have BH/CH/UTT or even other types RAM, there is no surprised that

you will get higher performance or some more FSB than previous DFI nf4 board.

That's it? NO.., the other hint is Vcore WILL be more stable than old NF4 series as well.
(not just little amount of stable)

what about for extremely overclocker's concern, cold bug? Thank you for Tony's

suggestion, however, Oskar has no such crazy cold cascade can try. and I will give that a

    try .

** Stay tune for next few hours about compatibilty and bios setting tune up bench.**

    **11/12 update.

How to run TCCD 4 dimm 2t DDR600, ya I mean any TCCD, not just some sepcific brand on the Expert version:

Oskar just let me know of that and show me the picture from his 3000+ and any tccd 4x512mb, and by te moment he show me this it's under super pi running.

I only can say what he told me, not try to hide something.
Driving strength 10~15 is better for two dimms.

    **[color=red]11/14/2005 update,
