    I don't know whether they're a "bad idea", per se, just that I get rid of them/don't like them. And sure, your idea about the fan is good in theory, but the problems with the fan hole lining up with the actual fan, plus the lack of real benefit (plus the fact that PSU airflow could be severely impeded by a thick single-slot card in the last PCI slot) just makes it more trouble than it's worth. Besides, on a heavily WC'd system, airflow isn't that important.
