John, are most waterblocks finished while assembled like you do with your blocks to minimize distortion? I would assume not but just curious?

Normally no. The 780i SPP/BF200 WB is a special case though where you have to have a very
large copper base to be able pick up both chip dies with both of those die well off center of
the mounting hole pattern. Heck the NF200 die is completely outside the mounting hole pattern
and the base in cantilevered out over that die.
