Time to show off my new cascade here in XS

Cascade parts have been in shelf for some time, too much work and some personnal problems have delayed it

It will be a 2 phase system r402a/r1150

Parts to be put together:

2 Rotaries 9000BTUs
Henry Oil Sep S-5181
TEV on 1st stage from Danfoss
Air cooled condensor with 10w fan
4 pressure gauges
1 meter copper braided flexible hose 1/2''
one of my Rev3 evaps
pressure relief valve
Danfoss KP15 double pressurestat
Custom HX

All this will be inside a stell cage and wrapped in aluminium sheet :p

Case dimensions: 50x38cms and 55cms height

1st stage is ready, although still no insulation.


The pic of the sight glass shows that its fully liquid line


Temp sensors were placed mid way the HX, top and bottom cause wanted to check some stuff of the design. -60 was very easy

2nd stage gauges, 1st stage ones are not connected yet. They will be place in the front, hopefully with a Cascade GFroster.



Copper Flexible hose in place and expansion tanks also connected




fired the cascade with Co2 and a bit r402a for pressure testing,



... and with pure ethylene




Awesome temps with a 28ºC ambient temp on workshop and HX only wrapped in armaflex, only the SLHX has the final insulation.
Still lots of work to be done, insulation, final electrics, case, paint job, Gfroster etc...
