F6G? Not good at all. you will find the turbo does not stay engaged after boot up. Went back back to F6C or and F4J. For me these are some of the best of all the Bios releases for the Extreme! Just my 2 cents.

Well I can be added to the team now! I just splurged on the UD5, Corsair Dom's 3x2 1600, and 2 640gb WD Cavair Blacks to finally be able to slam this thing together on air till some more water components get in stock!

    UD5 Bios F5e

Any feedback on bios F5e for the UD5 - It is tedious trying to keep track of all these bios releases.

Currently trying F6a - but no S3 support and worse still need much higher v core for same Oc.

Can anyone remind me of best previous bios for Oclock and keeping Vcore down or is F5e bios OK?????

    any help / oppinoin welcome.

Tonight I had strange issue with memory in A channel. It stopped working totaly.
If there is only 1 module in ch. A (DDR3_1 by manual, white slot closer to CPU), I have B8 or B9 codes on debug led and no boot. If there are more modules, they all worked, but ch. A module don't. I can see ch. A module SPD by CPU-Z, Everest, MemSet, etc. CPU-Z shows Dual Channel mode.
WTF is that? Is that MB or CPU problem? It's ~3000 km distance from my house to store where I bought MB and CPU, and it will take a lot of time to return this buggy hardware in it.

stasio, where can I find full debug codes list for EX58-Extreme? Most of visible codes are mised in manual.

i really wonder why people buy Ci7 and then diable HT... thats the main reason i bought Ci7... more threads to do more works... I could get out more Mhz cheaper from C2D Quad and better FPS in games (which most of the guys here do) the with Ci7.

Stasio - Thanks for the suggested bios to try - have tried F5G and F5, no dice, but I will give the others a go.

    Thanks

I had to choose going Quad Core or Core i7(Latest Tech) ? So why not

Money, plain and simple. You can get similar/better performance with a C2D for less money then with a Ci7, especial when your NOT using HT.

    UD5 vs DFI H8 vs Biostar x58?

Can you give me your unbiased opinion on which one to get if you were making a purchase today?

    Thanks in advance!
