Pressure.. the more the better.. especially with the 3.5 mm nozzles.

The D5 doesn't have the head pressure of the DDC2/3.2/Ultra.

I did not realize the head pressure was higher on the DDC 3.2 vs D5..this is good info

The gasket that the nozzle kits include seals that upper chamber, eliminating the gap.

I should use the quad nozzle if I have a quad cpu regardless of how many other blocks I have right? or was it designed for just a quad CPU only loop?

I think that depends on how many more blocks you have, how restrictive those blocks are, and whether you have enough of a pump to move things along.

FWIW, I plan on using the Fuzion with quad nozzle, MCW60, PA120.3, MC-Micro res, and an Iwaki MD20.
If you don't over-do it now, you'll likely do it over later.

so the general rule of thumb would be

the more restrictive setup you have, the bigger the nozzle?

so more blocks = more restriction = bigger nozzle with of course taking in consideration of how much pressure/flow your pump pushes

would that be accurate? It's like a damn if/then statement

I have the nozzles + maximus formula mb still in box... I plan to add the maximus nb to my loop. Im just trying to figure things out before I drain my current loop and replace the mobo.

IIRC the 4.5 nozzle was still lower restriction than the GTX by a little bit.

Correct, however, that PD test was done WITHOUT sealing the inlet... the sealing of the inlet increases PD a tad.

True. It was also comparing the FuZion to a flat Apogee GTX, not a bowed one (which should have a slightly lower pressure drop). All it really means, though, is that I have more work to do...

DDC 3.2 w/ Petra maximum pressure is 12.92 feet or 3.94 meters

    Every little bit helps

    FYI,

The D5 spec is wrong, I measured 166" or 13.8' in my own test with a custom top that lost max head. Alex also noted this in a really old forum post, and Laing's own documentation states it's closer to 14'.

I have no idea where this 11' number came from unless it's setting 4.or just a carry over of the D4... I belive Alex mentioned they plan to run the D5 curve and update that some time here.

The DDC3.2 is still very very slightly better in real world flow rates, but no where near the differece of the older DDC2 model.

I've done two mounts each of the following:

    stock
    sealed
    quad nozzle
    3.5mm

Here are my preliminary results on a

    Q6600 G0 @ 1.5V 3.6GHz (lapped - made a 0C difference on this CPU when it was done)
    Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R
    Tygon 1/2"
    D-TEK highflow barbs
    Swiftech MCP655 @ 5
Reservoir with custom A/C chiller to keep water temps constant
el cheapo type-K temp probe shown to be reasonably precise, but not accurate.

Water temps were held within 30.9-31.2C (I'm sure the probe reads at least 5C high). Temps were taken with a 1minute log of Core Temp (my water doesn't heat up, so I don't have to wait around like most people :p)

    FuZion Stock 1: 33/34/39/42, 50/50/58/58
    FuZion Stock 2: 33/34/39/42, 50/50/58/58

    FuZion Sealed 1: 33/33/39/42, 49/49/58/58
    FuZion Sealed 2: 33/33/38/40, 49/49/55/55

    FuZion Quad 1: 33/33/39/40, 48/48/57/57
    FuZion Quad 2: 33/33/38/40, 49/49/56/56

    FuZion 3.5mm 1: 33/33/39/40, 50/50/57/57
    FuZion 3.5mm 2: 33/34/39/40, 51/51/57/57

Then I substituted a Little Giant 2-MDQ-SC to see if it would make a difference how powerful the pump you're using with the 3.5mm nozzle is

    FuZion 3.5mm 1: 33/33/38/40, 50/50/57/57
    FuZion 3.5mm 2: 34/34/39/40, 52/52/57/57

I plan to do a DB-1 as well at some point, which should give us some idea how flow agnostic the FuZion is with the smallest nozzle.

Once I get my better equipment, then I'll get some more solid numbers, but people seem to be crying for preliminaries. It looks like this is going to take me a very long time with 5+ mounts per nozzle to establish any sort of trend.

One thing that occurs to me is that if I was using something better than Ceramique, I might see more of a difference. I'm thinking of switching to Shin-Etsu for my complete testing.

Very informal quick look with Shin-E on my chick's B3 Q6600 shows 2-3˚C improvement with the quad nozzle. No measureable change in water temp but it's a very under-loaded loop.
