    get the X1900XT 256MB surely

the X1900GT 256MB is only slightly slower than the X1800XT 512MB ,faster than the 7900GT

and the 7900GTX's Shader Operations/per sec is only half of the X1900XT

that's why X1900XT be always faster in the HDR games

    the X1900XT 256MB can beat both the 7900GTO512 and the 7900GTX 512MB

yeh , i cant choose in terms of noise or temps cause i use watercooling , i have to choose in terms of performence and image quality .

My conclusion after saw a lot of reviews , is that both VGAs have almost same performence in games , one Vga better ins some games and the other is better in other games .

so i cant choose thinking in Temps and noise (have watercooling)
cant also choose thinking in performence ( both are very similar)

so the only thing left its the image quality , and i have a 7900GT and a X1800XT and i always liked more the ATI image then the Nvidia image ( im not talking about graphics , its about colors , contrast ,....) .

A friend mine have both VGAs X1900XT 256mb and 7900GTO and he says ther 7900GTO even in 3Dmarks have more score , he also says that the scores that user MILKCAFE post are not real , lets wait for next week and then i test the card and post the results

    regards

Image quality - ATi wins.. but Imho.. not THAT much difference.. only in a few games.

The 512Mb frame buffer on the GTO's help.

    And the ATi drivers... **Hides**

    But, whatever your preference is.

    I would go GTO. xD

aiya, are you just using a 120.1 rad for a CPU and GPU block? You might want to think about getting a 120.2 or even a 120.3.

Your temps look a bit high compared to what ATITool reports my temps as for my X1900XT 512. Mine idles at 31-32c and load is about 40c. I have no clue what my ambient is, maybe 70-75f. But I don't think it would be low enough to make that much of a difference.

what is your 3dmark 2005 score with VGA default and opteron 2800mhz ???

I know Conroe gives more ~ 600/700 points than opteron dual core , but anyway what is your 2k5 score ???

i think i gona cancel my order for the new X1950 PRO 512Mb

GeCube Releases TEC Cooled ATI RADEON 1950PRO

GeCube announced the arrival of the FZ Cool overclocked ATI RADEON 1950PRO graphics card with thermoelectric cooling. GeCube's FZ Cool graphics card takes cooling solutions for X1950PRO overclocking to the next level by being the first graphics card in the world to incorporate a TEC (Thermo Electric Chip). TEC's superior cooling performance means that even when the card is overclocked by 20% the temperature remains within the optimum 60'C~70'C range. In addition to the FZ Cool version which comes with TEC chip and FZ double-fans, 1950PRO series cards equipped with normal cooling fans are now also available for power users. All three products use the ATI RV570 core manufactured using an 80nm process with onboard GDDR3 512MB/256MB high speed memory. HDCP is also supported to provide you with the ultimate audio-visual experience.

On this generation of cards, get the cheapest 512 MB card available. The X1900XT or the 7900GTO is a great choice. As for IQ, well, I have had both, and they are more similar than different. The delta between the two comes down to splitting hairs. As for AF and AA, the ATI card scales much better. So, it will come down to your environment. What monitor will you use? Do you turn up AA and AF in the driver? Or, do you use in game settings?

Personally, there is no wrong choice, just a different one.

And, BTW, default run at 3DMark05 on the GTO at stock clocks (650/660) is about 10,700 with a 2.8 GHz Opteron dual core. With the card OC'd to usable clocks (710/825), it gets about 12,200. 3Dmark06, about 6700 OC'd.

For those that want a quiet X1900 XT 256mb on air just find the HIS brand. Its cooler is a lot like the X1950 XTX.

    Fantastic scores.

These X1900XT 256's are real bargains.

Coupled with a Core 2.. great stuff.
