Currently im overclocking at 3.2Ghz ( 400FSB & 1.315vcore in bios , all other voltages are left in stock )

My windows idle vcore is 1.280 and loads at 1.232 ( about a week ago it was at 1.240 ) during full load my PWM temps shoot as high as 70c with a decent fan blowing over it.

are the above values pretty normal ?

Which CPU? Check the flatness of the PWM heat sink. You may not have sufficient airflow to the proper region.

so seems the ihs/core seems alright and the temp sensor is off.
Tell me please , did you've change GTL?
And can you tell me how you've set VTT, MCH and ICH voltages?

lowest selectable vcore in bios depends on the VID of the cpu.

use coretemp to see the VID of your cpu.

vid is 1.3375v but look i saw e6750 with 1.35v and some gigabyte mobo and there you can change vcore below 1.2...this irritates me......

yes, but on ip35(-e) its not possible.

for example i am testing a e8400 atm with VID 1,0375 and lowest selectable vcore in bios is 1,2250V. thats really stupid.

i also tested other cpus on that board like e2140, e2180, and celeron 430, and the lowest selectable vcore was always different. e.g. 1,325v for the e2140 if I remember correct.

maybe bios update in the future can help in that aspect.

but as is, if you select the lowest vcore and enable c1e, at idle how much lower is vcore?

I set my vcore to 1.5v and get about 1.35v at idle. Works out perfectly the way I want it

How so? This motherboard was released long before intel released the latest round of CPU's. I'm fairly certain if there isn't a bios update already there will be one in the near future. This motherboard is one of the best bang for buck motherboards out there.

The lowest Vcore available in BIOS = VID on the CPU box. Use C1E and EIST to further reduce Vcore and core speed. You must stick with the default CPU multiplier when running C1E and EIST.

I'll be testing this board out at the end of the week, as both it and an E6750 will be arriving soon on my doorstep.

    Will post some OC results...

I have the abit ip35-e and i have a question about updating the bios...
i know there are 2 ways to do it:
    1) just installing it through the DISC-ON-KEY when rebooting
    2) from a flopy drive
my question is, is there any other ways to do it? for example installing/burnning the bios through your OS?
    thanks for helping!

    one more thing...
i cant get over 411*9 with my E6600 is this the maxed fsb i can get with this MOBO/CPU?
or i just have to raise the MCH or the CPU voltage?
    my currect overclocking settings are:
    411*9
    1:1
    1.5775 - cpu
    2.10 - ram
    1.3500 - vtt voltage
    1.650 north bridge
and memories are standing on their stock timing 4-5-4-15, 2T (i got a kit of ocz platinum with XTC spreaders 800mhz 1gb *2)
and thanks again for helping P:

best boot to dos and flash using awdflash. You can do this with a USB pen drive anyway.

I don't know boxerown, that north bridge voltage looks a little too high to me. My Q6600 OCed to 3.6 (400x9) didn't need anything changed but the vcore (CPU) from 1.21v to 1.35v. Maybe that's the max your cpu can handle?

maybe but ive increased the nb cause i thought thats might be the problem i also placed a 120mm fan on it so the temps suppose to be pretty good for this voltage. i also thought that the RAM kit i have may effect in a negative way i mean that also might be a problem.
for checking this case i gotta have substitutional parts - and i dont have so its pretty hard to decide.
    other opinions?

Nope. I have the same problem with this board and an E8400. The MCH needs high voltage once you go north of 400 FSB. Really sad. I think I'll switch to a DFI board because of that and vdrop.

Good to know. Mine doesn't like to go beyond 420 FSB on my E6750, .1 voltage increase on MCH. Been thinking about using one of my spare 40mm fans on the NB cooler to help things a bit, but this is a silent build (Scythe Ninja, 120mm Yate Loons @ 5v, etc.), so ...

...yeah, if anyone has a Thermalright HR-05 for sale, holla back.

even if you drop the multiplier, it won't go higher? the OP of this thread hit 500fsb using 7x on a e6300.
