• 2x2GB DDR2-1000 XP2 Redline CL5-5-5-15 @ 2.1V
• 2x2GB DDR2-1066 XP2 Series CL5-5-5-15 @ 2.1V
• 4x2GB DDR2-800 XP2 Quad Kit CL4-4-4-12 @ 2.0–2.1V
• 2x2GB DDR2-800 HP2 Series CL5-4-4-12 @ 1.8V

wish it was 4-4-4-12 @ 1.8V but still awesome. Hopefully it will be cheap like the 5-5-5-15 kits priced around 50-70 bucks for a 4GB kit

ahh ya, bringing back the Redlines! Something tells me the Redlines aren't going to be cheap, but hopefully will be real good.

So what exactly IS the difference between the XP and the Redline? By the numbers, there's really no difference. Same heatsink design. Different IC's?

the redlines are hand picked afaik. they will be able to OC very nicely too. imagine 1200+mhz with 2x2GB ram

That would have to be it, I guess. So far, I'm pretty sure the XP's and Redline's have used the same IC's.

My EM's have fairly solid heatsinks. Nothing elaborate, but the metal is definitely in no danger of bending by accident.

look http://www.mushkin.com/doc/products/...ail.asp?id=556 its the best 2x2GB out but u will never find it since micron isnt binning high enough with their asian FAB (were they moved their non buffered ddr2 dimm production). the SJ fab is not gtr and FB only so the D9 revD and revE high density is lacking in supply of high bins

ive gotten that explanation for wintec and patriot when i wanted some revE and i ended up with the patriot with asian dimms and its lacking, 1000mhz c5 is hard to get stable even with a heatspreader thats copper and not alu with good spacing for air flow. so people had to retool for powerchips on thier high end but gskill was already there so they got the jump

Well that makes sense. Only thing that is curious is how cheap they've managed to do it quickly, but I guess that could be explained by G.Skill just figuring they would loose enthusiast to DDR3 by pricing it like DDR3.

There were some issues with the heatsinks and the pads not touching the chips, but those issues were resolved a long time ago. The heatsinks are one of the best designs in the industry IMO. Practical and good looking. I'm using the DDR2-1066 5-5-4-12 and couldn't be happier.

Yup I know feb 2007, could of been jan. Mushkin had 4GB in 1066Mhz and 2 800Mhz kits for overclocks (most didn't know but em2-6400 2x2GB were full of those chips at the time too), all of which easily did 1066Mhz 5-4-4-12 for pretty near everyone with 2.1-2.225V.

It was a great kit, I have 2 HP2-6400 2x2GB d9's
