As for the pictures. Big wide ass pictures make me scroll to read an entire post. I really don't like scrolling to read a really long line of text and i'm sure there are more out there that would agree with that. Aside from that. There are some people with crappy connections. Makes it easier to read a thread without waiting for pictures to load.

I just want you to stop banging your head against a wall for nothing. Thats all.
lol. yea i know they do, but i really think that it makes it a lot easier too, well there were a few posts in this thread where they are getting better themps than my water cooling and at higher clocks, but most have not stated what cooling solution they are using, abut some have stated using high end air, well i am using highend water, with dual 120 radiator, sorry for misunderstanding you man, i think i might have applied too much thermal paste, but the temps are way better than they were with b3, i am not complaining actullay as much i am surprised to see some results.

I've tried. Believe me i've tried. For some reason i can't boot into windows past 3.9ghz. That's giving it 1.57v in bios. Just not happening. Not with this motherboard anyway. I have to say i'm quite impressed with it's ability being a P965 chipset. I'm only running air so the best i would be able to post is a few quick benchmarks if i were to get in @ 4ghz anyway. Prime would definitely put me over the temperature threshold.

    @NKD

It was my understanding that you were looking for air cooling results so i assumed you were using air.

actually i am testing at 3.6 right now, with with vcore of 1.38 under load and with all cores loaded, its been running for 30mins right now, will let it go through one loop of prime 95 to even consider it any stable, my temps on water are 67 on two cores and 63 on other two, well i am not dissappointed in my temps at all, because with my b3 and same highend water setup was doing 77 at 3.4, and at 3.2 it was doing 60's. i believe i will be in the low 60's once the thermal paste has burned in. well i am not complaining at all, cuz a quad running at 3.6 is pretty damn fast, well i will keep pushing it more and more but i want to atleast make 3.6 my 24/7 setup, and may be bench at higher speed.

the only reason i was saying about low temps is that some users are getting way cooler temps, i think Ace is running at 3.84 with a thermal right ultra extreme 120. i never seen is temps but i assume they are pretty acceptable if he's running at 3.84 24/7, i wouldnt want to go in the 70's, i would like to stay in the 60's. thats the only reason i was feeling my higherend watercooling setup is giving me higher temps than a highend air cooling.

and i have yet to see anyone hold a prime longer then 15 min with 4ghz if at all any.

So no 4.0ghz dont count unless you can show me a prime of it of at least 2 hours. This is where it goes though all the blends usually.

Most quadcores ive played with crap out at around 20-30min SmallFFT's on prime.

I think 13.xx is about the norm for 3.8 really depends on the memory timing & 1T vs 2T command rate & ram speed.

What do you mean by more people should be getting 4ghz? Refuse to push their chips? Dude.... These are $300 Quad core 2.4ghz chips and you think more people should be stable at 4ghz. Thats a good one. Made me laugh. Of the 13 you counted I bet only 1 are 100% stable for 24/7 use. And thats being generous. Just a few months ago we were very lucky to have 4ghz stable c2d's. Then came a quad or 2 that might be 4ghz stable. Now all the g0's should be 4ghz? How many 4ghz stable quads do you have that your basing your expectations on? Please show me 1.

For some reason? how about its a $300 2.4ghz chip and not a $1300 3.0ghz chip. Why does everybody expect so much from these? If you get 3.6 thats a 50% OC from stock and very very acceptable. I'd be extremely happy with 1000mhz OC @ 3.4. That would make my $300 chip 400mhz faster than intels fastest quad costing $1300.

i can get to 4ghz with ~1.6v, do you think i will use that for 24/7 crunching? HELL NO!

1.4-1.39v loaded so far probably be my 24/7 setup, the temps are still ok, its under water, and hopefully after few days of use the temps will go down 2-3c and may be i can oc more, i just want to stay in the 60's, thats it. i think i can probably push 3700, but that will probably border line max stable i would rather have little room to spare.

and yeah its pretty funny i dont even dream about hitting 4ghz on quads, 3.6 is pretty damn fast enough, and should last me good few years, well its not like i wont upgrade when penryn comes along and may be get 4ghz than.

the temps are 66-68, under load and prime has been running for 2 hours now, probably finish one loop in an hour or so. than i would try to squeeze every last megahertz at this same voltage. watercooled by d-tek fusion waterblock and please people dont say my temps are high for my setup, cuz it simply hurts my feelings(lol), my b3 was doing the same temps at 3.2.

Is your ultra in the same loop as the cpu? My temps loaded @ 3700 1.45v were around 58-62c. Now with both ultras in loop i'm at 68-72c loaded small fft with fusion. I hope you just made a mistake in you sig when u say your average room temp is 68-72c. That should be 68-72F Correct? lol if not, you have 1 hot room!!

don't know exactly what you mean by: "benchmark your system against something that doesn't exist."

you have certainly not been attentive to other posts...i posted the below image earlier in this thread.

i think my temperatures are low for 3.9 Ghz running Everest stability test on all FOUR cores; albeit this run is outside the case...if i slapped this system back into my gigabyte Aurora case with two 120mm exhaust fans in the rear, i might see about a 3C increase in cpu temp and maybe 1-2C increase in PWM temp.

a 3C increase added to 50C cpu temperature is STILL damn cool for a Q6600 running all FOUR cores at 100%!

just because you cannot attain this kind of temperature cooling on "AIR" does not make it impossible for others to do!...RIGHT!?

    1. I don't consider everest to be acceptable for testing stability. Especially only 13 minutes of it.

    2. I just ran the everst stability test myself. Temps are WAY lower then a prime95 load. So not a valid showing of max temp under load.

    3. Still have yet to see a screenshot with 8 hours of prime on air.

thats the thing at 3.6 i am hitting 67-68c on the hottest core, which to me is ok, cuz me b3 was at 77c at 3.4, so i dont know why my temps are higher than urs, no i dont have any graphic card in the loop, o well i am happy with 3.6 stable no complains whatsoever.
