Too bad, wake from sleep (s3) is not fixed. It simply doesn't work since F8 exist.Originally Posted by bingo13

The early revisions of the board have it. Mine 2nd board makes all different in terms of cold boot - reset works perfectly, but when powered down, first time can't boot, after reset become diabled FSB settings and then can boot
The first one, can't reset ,but everytime after shut down can wake flawlessly
BTW here waiting new F8* DQ6, cos F8C can't clock over 420-430 witch suxx, cos now with F7 can boot and bench over 520And using 490x8 24/7

Same board with c2 here...I haven't had any of these nightmares but my cpu seems to get too hot at a lower voltage...I start getting into 1.4v territory and my load temps get to 72c. yikesOriginally Posted by dnottis

Whoa, what are you using for cooling? I'm on an ac freezer right now and am exhibiting the same behavior. It's prompted me to research water once again and move to it soon hopefully. I'm dead stable at 8x400=3200 1.28v actual (1.375v set in bios) and load around 58'c coretemp. However, 8x450=3600, to be able to prime for more than a second, I remember setting vcore to around 1.58 for 1.44 actual or something. Temps soared way into the upper 70's right away so I just went back to 400 for the time being.Originally Posted by Tac0

I installed this F8 Qualification BIOS but when I tried to get back into the BIOS I got a continous beep and restart. I tried pressing the Reset & Pwr buttons together and removing the pwr cable but that didn't work. I finally removed the pwr cable and shorted out the Clear CMOS pins. That worked.
I noticed that when I pressed Ctrl-F1 there's a new menu item 'Advanced Chipset Features'. Under this item there is one option that's not greyed out. It's 'GbE LAN'. Anybody know what this is for and should I leave it Enabled or Disable it?
I currently don't have my E6400 installed; just my 805D. I'm probably not going to reinstall it to see if does me any good until I see how this BIOS works with a few other DS users.

That would be nice because I really like this board. I haven't got around to getting a Core 2 duo yet but I have been eyeing D9GMH memory for a while now and when I get my 2 x 1 GB set I really want to push it and see what kind of frequency and timings I can get out of them.Originally Posted by Tac0

The DS3P is the version of the DS3 that clocks well with D9s right? I really like this board, but that "bug" is really bothering me because I am just dying to push some TEAM Xtreem or Ballistix when the time comes.Originally Posted by Lestat
Have to post my own results with the new F8 bios.
My disclaimer is that I flashed it to my S3 board, not a DS3. But that shouldn't really matter.
Anyway, at first it was cold booting continuously after the initial flash. Reset the CMOS via jumper, all is well.
I set my OC, same one I run stable with the F6 bios for the S3 - 490x7 1.425v bios, ram at 5-6-6-15 timings 2.1v
System cold boots a few times and then resets the bios. Will not take that OC no way no how, always resets. Tried different cpu voltage, different ram timings. No go.
Clocked it down to 480x7, 1.45v - Does allow me to boot to windows. If I shut down and restart, resets bios and back to square one.
So it looks like it's a better bios overall then F8j, but not so good since it really killed my already stable OC.
I do like the fact that bios profiles are added so you can save your settings. 8 slots is sweet. I hope they add that in the next S3 bios revision. But I also hope that I don't lose my OC on the next S3 bios.
Back to F6 and my higher OC.
