Thumbs up ATI's Massive Price Slash Comes Into Effect

Prices Are Now In Effect @ Newegg:

    X1900XTX $499: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102671
    X1900XT $449: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102003
    X1800XT $349: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161171
    X1800XL $299: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102610

The difference being that those are now retail prices, not OEM...oem might be even lower. International Prices may drop more slowly. But this happened pretty fast after the announcement for the price cuts:

he Markham, Ontario-based GPU supplier is projected to announce price slash on the Radeon X1900-, X1800-, X1600 and X1300-series products shortly, according to sources familiar with the plans of the graphics giant. The decrease of the prices will help ATI to more efficiently compete against Nvidia Corp.’s new products which release will spur lowering the prices across-the-board.

    wel theyl have to.
the 7600 will b some 30 euro more expensive then the x1600 so i see no real point in lowering its price or the 7600 must b really alot better wich i doubt.

but its the 7900GT that can hurt ATI.
it wil b below 300 euro and if it performes good at stock and also clocks wel (into the directions of a 7900gtx) it can hurt ATI.

    the x1800 is old news.
ive seen the x1800xl go on sale a while ago at severel webshops.
a week before x1900 launch a few dutch webshops dropped the x1800 from 330+/- down to 260 euro.
likely to get rid of their stock as it was only a week before the x1900 came.

while the Radeon X1800 XT products with 512MB or 256MB should cost around $299 (512MB version will cost higher than that)

atm you can buy X1800XT for 330 so not bad.
but its also logical as they arent made anymore so he guess is how long will they be in stock.

they shoulda done this a few weeks ago to sell X1800xts to all people waiting to see what G71 can do.

Finally both teams realized that it`s not just amtter of performance but also price factor that plays more important role in market share. Good move from both o` them. Let`s hope we won`t see $1k grafics

They are trying to draw away as much attention possible from the new Nvidia product releases I knew they would do this. Not that it's bad, as price cuts are always nice for us customers

Wow. This is pretty much what I said ATI was going to do

Perfect and most reasonable way to deal with nvidia's 7900GTX. If the GTX doesn't perform, then nvidia gets a bigger shaft in the end.

    My watercooling experience

    Water
    Scythe Gentle Typhoons 120mm 1850RPM
    Thermochill PA120.3 Radiator
    Enzotech Sapphire Rev.A CPU Block
    Laing DDC 3.2
    XSPC Dual Pump Reservoir
    Primochill Pro LRT Red 1/2"
Bitspower fittings + water temp sensor

    Rig
    E8400 | 4GB HyperX PC8500 | Corsair HX620W | ATI HD4870 512MB

I see what I see, and you see what you see. I can't make you see what I see, but I can tell you what I see is not what you see. Truth is, we see what we want to see, and what we want to see is what those around us see. And what we don't see is... well, conspiracies.

Well, from what Ive heard the retailers arent too happy with the 7900. I think Ati might still hold on to its crown with the XTX, and add the price slash

Eloquent? I guess you are not...

OnT: As long as they (X19XTX/79GTX) sell below 6250 SEK (780 USD, 650 EUR) in Sweden I'm happy.

(Not that I think they will. They usually sell for much more.)
