    Cool Team Xtreem 2x512MB DDR500 UTT-BH5 OCing Report - 2 sets tested -> SPi32M @ 279MHz!!!

    I'm sure that those of you keeping track of what happens in Xtreme Bandwidth, noticed a new (or not so new) kid on the XS block - TeamGroup. Almost a month ago, s7e9h3n gave us his first look into PC4000 UTT-BH5 but those were provided directly by TeamGroup. Other memory manufacturers (OCZ, Mushkin, G.Skill, Corsair, etc) do that as well so this is nothing new. In those cases there's always talk about hand-picking and questions if ocing results from retail kits will match those previewed. Unfortunately, at this moment availability in US is "not quite there yet" but dogsx2, one of the XS members managed to order 2 kits from ComputerGiants, which were then delivered to him by TeamResearch Inc. Soon after, he asked me to do other XS'ers a favor and run an OCing Report on both of them. Apparently, he just did not have enough time or patience, or both But let's not forget to give it up to him for making this OCing Report possible

    After this short introduction, let's get going, shall we?

    Below, are the 2 sets I'm gonna be playing with, packaged and ready. Honestly, I really like this packaging - it's small, modules fit tightly and it feels more secure than standard plastic handler.



    Here, all 4 modules. As you can see, serial number is the same on both modules from each kit. I will be testing those in pairs, just like it's assumed. No each-stick-separate type of testing here...



    For this OCing Report, I'm gonna be testing stability with: SuperPi Mod1.5 32M, Memtest For Windows, SP2004. At this moment I'm without "capable" video card (back to R7000 PCI for now ), so no 3D benchmarks. Also, I decided to test both kits at x10 multiplier in case there are voices that divider might impair IMC's ability to clock RAM higher I have a headache from those slow CPU clocks and painfully long 32M times


    Part I

    Dual kit #20050016641


    SPi32M @ 250x10=2500MHz DDR500 5-2-2-2.0-1T

    SPi32M @ 260x10=2600MHz DDR520 5-2-2-2.0-1T

    SPi32M @ 265x10=2650MHz DDR530 5-2-2-2.0-1T

    SPi32M @ 270x10=2700MHz DDR540 5-2-2-2.0-1T

    Memtest For Windows, 600%/60mins @ 270x10=2700MHz DDR540 5-2-2-2.0-1T

    90 mins SP2004 LargeFFT 900MB used @ 270x10=2700MHz DDR540 5-2-2-2.0-1T


    This kit, was pretty much a very smooth ride. Rated DDR500 was achieved with 3.2v in BIOS (3.24v w/DMM). Pretty "tight" all the way up to 265MHz. I had to go TWTR=2 for SPi to complete @ 270Mhz and voltage needed was 3.70 + 0.03v (3.76 w/DMM). Unfortunately, I was not able to complete 32M @ 271MHz. Relaxing timmings and 3.8v in BIOS did not help at this moment.

    Memtest For Windows, 627%/67mins @ 267x10=2670MHz DDR534 5-2-2-2.0-1T

    90 mins SP2004 LargeFFT 900MB used @ 265x10=2650MHz DDR540 5-2-2-2.0-1T


    This set, is slightly weaker. It required a bit more voltage to reach DDR500 and it got a bit rocky above 267MHz. For SPi32M to pass @ 268MHz I had to relax timmings slightly and 3.7v (3.74v w/DMM) was needed for that. I really troed to hit that magic "270MHz" mark but it was just not happening. Memtest For windows started producing errors @ 268Mhz just after 10% mark.

    I hope I will be able to play a little bit more with those sets throughout the weekend, I will try to work on some 1M calculations and Pifast as well for those of you "sprint-junkies"

    SPi32M @ 320x10=3200MHz DDR532 5-2-2-2.0-2T


    Conclusion


    I have personally played with 4 kits of 2x512MB UTT-BH5 and 2 kits of UTT-CH5. Based on that, plus results from other OCers around, I will say that one set turned out to be quite impressive (very stable 270MHz) and the other, about average. That's OCers life, right? I would imagine this dual kit is not going to be available in large quantities as there is not much time left to still sell enthusiast 2x512MB DDR RAM - Socket AM2 is just around the corner. But if availability in US gets better within next few weeks there will still be a chance to bank on it.

    I got set 2x512 PC4000 BH-5 from ComputerGiants 1 week past.This kit does 270 with FX 57 or Opty 175 SuperPi 32m or Prime just fine.Won't do 3D over 245 no matter what settings.
    Tried in Ultra-d,Expert and Sapphire pure.

    Can you run some 3D with yours?

    Nice review. I would pick up a set but benching ram is not a reality for me so I'm thinking about settling for some PC4000 Cronus 2gig. Team has done some very nice things with oc'ing since they hit the scene.

    With that Opty 146 doing that performance, I would say it's fair enough; there is no doubt about Michael 's OC perspective and skill. Just wondering how Michael set the strength up under bios? That would be highly appreciate if you can share with us that information.

    I've personally had some nice experience with Team TCCD before, and as far as hearing from people here in XS, looks like these UTT-BH5 yields as good as the now unavailable Mushkin UTT-CH5. Guess this will be people's last chance to buy themselves a nice pair of UTT-BH5.

    I really didn't remember what EXACT fsb I was running so I used some math skills I learned in 2nd grade - 3781/14= 270.0714285.......

    Unfortunately (as I mentioned above) I will not be able to give you any 3D results at this moment. But I must admit, what you're experiencing it's quite odd...

    Thanks, Kevin As to your question... ALL of the completed results, from both sets, were done with Drive & Data Strength set @ AUTO/AUTO After I reached max SPi32M (268 & 270) I tried all of the combinations, from 4/1 to 8/3, haha! It does not seem to do anything good at all...

    Haha, it has not really been about believing or not. I just want to ensure that people know what to expect when buying RAM. The more results the better But I have a strong feeling that its a limited amount of those sets that are capable of ~275MHz in 32M. Just like wiith any other brand of modules based on UTT-BH5...

    True! As far as I've seen, at the moment only G.Skill and TeamGroup have UTT still available for purchase.

    Nice results youve got there Bachus. I'll be getting two sets of Teamgroup, the pc4800 tccd and the pc3200 utt, in next week for testing from tankguys. I hope my results are as good as yours, I'll be posting them.
