Finally a Z68 board with Displayport and max res. 2560 x 1600
Intel FDI is limited to 1920 x 1200 (1080P) if your board only have HDMI or DVI ports, Z68 boards don't support dual-link DVI

Just got back from work and already whacked everything onboard liao, now time for the more impt things in life... yes, time for supper 1st.
Left out these few shots.
LGA 775/1155 mounting holes
Full house CPU socket - no skimping on components like some brands
Everything's new again - though they say Z68 is same old same old
Speaking of UEFI, must post this screenshot to make all other mobo owners envious cos Asrock implements F12 screen captures even on their Extreme4 series.
No need to spend loads of money on the high end model to enjoy sharing screenshots.
I'm yet to be convinced of Z68.

I noticed that the new Giga Z-68 boards (ud7/5/4) didn't have video outputs? I like the idea of being able to use built in video for back up or if you don't want/need a dedicated video card. I like my current P67 ASRock so I'm looking foward to availability of this model here in the states as well as other Z-68 offerings.
Ryzen 9 on the test bench... Sometimes older generation/tech as well.
is there suppose to be a connection?
It looks amazingly nice tho
Ivy Bridge is what you want, Z68 is such a small upgrade it's not worth the price if you already have a high end X58 system.
PCI-e 3.0 will be the next big thing.
This is a nice board though, but nothing to be "jealous" over like you state.
Clear CMOS button with bright red LED at the I/O plate, anyone finds this useful?
Lucid Virtu - very early days as can be seen from the apps supported

Studying the effects of Lucid Virtu on 3D11 P scores
Unlocked 6950@stock clocks on Asrock Z68 E4, latest available Lucid Virtu 1.1.101.16618 installed
Virtu not installed
Virtu installed but not enabled
Virtu installed and enabled
Interesting findings indeed, looks like the Lucid team has done very well with the latest version with regards to 3D11 P scores.

Do you use linux or could boot Z68 system from one of the linux live-cd editions?
I'm having one small request, it takes no more than half a minute.
...and what's better LAN controller: BCM57781 by Broadcom or TRL8111E by Realtek?

Introducing Lucid Virtu "d-Mode" for Z68 motherboards with or without video outputs...
http://download.asrock.com/manual/Vi...e4/English.pdf3.2 d-Mode
d-Mode is provided for demanding 3D gamers to achieve uncompromised 3D performance of discrete GPU
installed in the system. In this mode, Virtu allows user to utilize Intel special features such as trascoding, while
display is connected to discrete GPU.
Note: We recommend you use d-Mode for better 3D performance unless you use Intel Insider feature or the
power saving i-Mode.
To use Lucid VIRTU solution in d-Mode, display must be connected to discrete GPU installed in the system.
Nice for everyone with discrete graphics or/and big displays with resolutions greater than 1080p
Function should work on every Z68 board with Lucid Virtu license -AOC

Nice ! Thanks MacClipper
The heatpipe looks VERY close to the EPS connector, what's the clearance like? And what's with the V8 branding? It's not on the box or part of the model number...

8GB (2x4GB) G.Skill RipjawsX PC12800 CL8 1.5v
Silverstone FT-02
Another AMD (Asus) HD6950 2GB reference for crossfire
