    Unhappy [Help] Problems with my overclock ! R3E + 980X !

Hey, guys. Looks like I'm having problems with my computer.

I can't make my cpu stable and all hardware is new!

The maximum frequency that I reached was 4Ghz on 3DMark Vantage with voltages @ auto and temperature @ full load around 52ºC.

Above that, something weird happens and the system crashes at cpu test with less than 1 second running.

I did it all with memories, uncore, qpi, nothing worked.

    I use watercooler.. i don't believe that's the matter...

Anyone know what can it be?

    Where am I doing wrong??

    Checklist:

Cpu configurations: ALL OFF (exceto HT e ALL CORES)
    Cpu Voltage OCP: OFF
    QPI, PLL Voltage OCP: OFF
    CPU PLL: 1.30v
    VTT/QPI: 1.35v ~ 1.50v (Unsuccessful)
    Vcore: 1.50 ~ 1.65v (Unsuccessful)
    Clock testado: 4200mhz ~ 4812mhz (Unsuccessful)
    Uncore: 2800mhz ~ 4000mhz (Unsuccessful)
    Cpu Ratio: 29 ~ 35x (Unsuccessful)
    Load line: Full Calibration
    Mode: X-Power
    PCI Express: 102
Spread Spectrum / CPU e PCI: Disable
    Hardware Prefetcher and Cache: Enable

    -----

That's all that I remember for now.

    I updated BIOS, cleared CMOS.

    Need help here!

    -----

    My config:

    Mobo: Rampage III Extreme
    CPU: i7 980x #3020A477
Cooling: WC XSPC / Block Heatkiller 3.0 CU
    RAM: Supertalent 2000mhz 8-8-8-24
    VGA: SLI Msi GTX480 Lightning
    Hard Disk: 2 x SSD Corsair Nova 64 | Samsung HD103UJ
PSU: Antec High Current Power 1200w
Case: Microcool Banchetto 101 Clear Modular
    Monitor: Samsung B2230
    Imput Device: Dell SK® | Razer Mamba™
Audio System: Asus Xonar Xense 7.1 Premium Gaming | Logitech THX Z2300
    Headset: Sennheiser PC 350 Xense

    Help-me Please !

Also be really careful with voltages, Vtt 1.5v is scary stuff, so is 1.65v on water, you don't need anything like that for 4-4.5GHz and 32nm cpu's are very sensitive to it.

    Try this though:

Cpu configurations: ALL OFF (exceto HT e ALL CORES) Turn TM on incase something happens and you need it
    Cpu Voltage OCP: OFF
    QPI, PLL Voltage OCP: OFF
CPU PLL: 1.30v Set this to default 1.80v and only change it later on once things are stable
VTT/QPI: 1.35v ~ 1.50v (Nada com sucesso) Keep this under 1.40v max, the lower the better! (to a point)
Vcore: 1.50 ~ 1.65v (Nada com sucesso) - way to much vcore, keep it sane. 1.375v (real) max for now
Clock testado: 4200mhz ~ 4812mhz (Nada com sucesso)
Uncore: 2800mhz ~ 4000mhz (Nada com sucesso) - use the lowest or second lowest setting
Cpu Ratio: 29 ~ 35x (Nada com sucesso) - Try 25-29x to start with.
Load line: Full Calibration - I use 50% LLC its better for your CPU
Mode: X-Power - try T Balanced + Power, works fine for most of us
PCI Express: 102 - why 102? Set to 100 to start with
Spread Spectrum / CPU e PCI: Disable
    Hardware Prefetcher and Cache: Enable

Set your ram speed to around DDR3-1500 to 1700MHz and use loose timings to start with. Use 1.64XXX vdimm to start with.

    Thanks for the help.

I tried using 4500mhz less than 1.50, it was not possible.

Not tested lower multipliers, I'll do it tomorrow.

There may be a processor (batch) so bad?

    I am grateful.

    Edit:

Oh god, I'm having the same problems ...

Black screen without launching the video, when it starts, it takes longer than normal.

Problems above 4500mhz, it is perfect with unless.

980X's are difficult to get above 4.5 ghz unless you're on sub zero or a very good batch on air, and even great air batches usually need >1.45v for 4.5 ghz.

You look like you had some success at lower speeds I know you were able to get more than 4.1 ghz. What was the highest speed (at sane voltages) you achieved?

And you shouldn't go above 1.45-1.50v vcore on water.
That 1.30 PLL was definitely a serious problem early on. Way below default.

    Its ok !

The best I got was stable:

    4495mhz with 1.50v
    BTT: 1.40
    Uncore: 3200MHz
    Memory: 1684mhz
QPI link: 5200, More or less

I'll follow the tips CryptiK friend this afternoon, and give feedback to everyone.

Please, post, help-me, I need to fix this.

High investment not to succeed in benchmark.
