Hey chew,im useing a set of Gskill DDr3 1600mhz model F3_12800CL9D CL9-9-9-24 in my AM3 board XFT-UD5P gigabyte.I have alot of probs trying to get the nb frequnecy up past 2600,is it the ram or just me,also hard to get timings down lower .Would i be better off getting the oz amd ram that you use?
I have this ram (OCZ3P1600LVAM4GK) running in my Crosshair III but i can't get it stable at DDR1600 7-7-7 with just 1.65V.
Prime blend craps out after one minute, with 8-8-8 timings it runs fine, so does DDR1333 6-6-6.
Giving more volts seems to help, with 1.7V it runs about 5 minutes before it errors.
I haven't tried more volts but i'm reluctant to give over 1.75V as it is supposed to work at just 1.65V.
Any suggestions anyone?

That's why i asked here actually, i expect some OCZ reps to visit this section now and then.
I ran Prime95 blend 1hour and 15minutes before i stopped it but it took 1.72V (bios) -- stable enough for me.
The LCD poster says it's 1.72V too.
Thanks for your reply anyway, mine might be not as good or maybe your mobo is overvolting the ram somewhat?

It's weird with this Giga it was undervolting it to 1.61 and I was able to run it at specs.. I just added +0.05 Volts to it to get it spec.
At least is sounds like you got it stable though
I was thinking of getting the Crosshair III and pair it with this ram so it's good to know your results....
@Zeus,there are two or more Threads like yours in the German Language Section at the OCZ Forum, one is mine.
The other guy and me tested many settings but 1600 are impossible.
I got the Ram Memtest stable at something like around 1584Mhz via FSB,but one Tick more oder setting direct to 1600 is a no go.
The interesting Part of that,is that this Problem seems to be only in Combination with the CHIII ,and one guy with a DFI.
Thanks for the info, i will check out the thread in a minute.
I can run mine stable at DD1600 7-7-7-21 but it takes 1.72V instead of 1.65V OCZ claims it shoud run at.
I'm running them 1333 6-6-6-18 now at 1.65, it's faster than 1600 7-7-7.
edit: can you link me to the thread? I can't find a german section over there.

Is this RAM solely compatible with an AMD platform or is it just optimized for AMD, but still valid across all DDR3 systems?

Thanks RyderOCZ, they're definitely my next buy. If only I had come to XS sooner, I wouldn't have bought the ones in my sig (they haven't even arrived in the mail yet, lol).

I got this mem to, wont run at 1600MHz 7-7-7 1.65V either. Gonna check the links given to the OCZ forums. Don't wanna go really above 1.65V.

After some new testing with and Finetuning i made a little Progress a few minutes ago !
The old Status was, that each Try via FSB or directly setting to 1600 gave me Bluescreens and other "Hangups",the few Trys i could get on desk gave me instant Errors everytime i started Memtestpro 3.8.
@Cartago and the others who got probs to run 1600 with this Ram,try these Settings:
First little Stepp: ganged instead of unganged took me to ~ 1.3-1.7% Coverage before the First Error in one of two Instances of Memtest (but no Bluescreen)
So it could be that ganged is a little bit more stable as unganged i thought...
But the important thing is playing around with the Bios Option "Dram Ref Voltages" or something like in the Tweaker Menu, the Default Option is "Auto" i could not find a tool which shows me how "Auto" sets these Settings.
I set to manual and each setting one Tick + that got me to ~ 2.2% Coverage before the first Memtest Error.
Next Try i only gave the Ram to CPU Voltage two Ticks more ,the Result was a first Error @ 0.7% (Setting back to one Tick Brought me back to above 2%)
Next Stepp was giving two more Ticks to the Channels and that was the Solution, now at three Ticks (must be +37,5mv or something) i am at ~60% Coverage in both Instances with only one Error.
Dram Voltage in Bios is set to 1.66V,cause its too vary at 1.65.
IŽll test more today to get away this one Error, probably i got a bad Stick too,but lets see.
