Red face Antec Twelve Hundred with surprise inside (worklog) ;-P

    Hello

Some weeks ago mr Carsten asked me if I'll be able to build one but untypical unit . He already has one Antec Twelve Hundred case with whole PC, and he decided that it's good time to buy second same case and fit inside it phase-change coolers. Yes two units . So I'm making now Single-stage for Cooling CPU and later in same case, over system which I'm building is plan to fit waterchiller (by another builder) to cool down GPU and chipset . Ambitious plan, isn't it ? That case with only cooler inside will be standing near "real PC case" so they'll be "twins" .

    Specs :

    Compressor: Aspera NE2134GK
Evap: steeper 42mm diameter, braided DN10 suction flex hose
    XV: captube 0.9 mm
Condensor: cold-ice custom "deluxe" 0.5kW with riffled tubes cooled by 2 x 120/38 mm Scythe Ultra Kaze 3000 version
    Refrigerant : R507
Case : Antec Twelve Hundred (brand new)
Others: none ? (in future waterchiller inside too)

First I want to said that I'm totaly amazed how PC case nowadays can be "complicated and pimped" . Those antec have in stock 5 pcs of 120mm fan plus one BIG fan on top (sth like 220 mm) . Most of fans have speed regulation by potentiometers and LED lighting . Side panel have nice plexi window . According to all those adds which we have stock in this case that's really good investition .

First I want to show why I'm amazed by this case (no, I'm not working for Antec ) :

    Nice, good looking packing

Look what I've found on bottom of case - piece of special paper which prevents corosion during magazining/transport (case is steel) . First time I see sth like this .

Over 220mm fan on top .

Fan speed regulation on front and light regulation on rear panel of case .

I must cut much of plate inside case to fit all without problems .

uppppsss ..weight reduction Antec twelve hundred "ultra-light" by piotres

Yes it was too fat ...even more plate was removed .

Painting on black matt for cutted parts .

Case is ready to mount phase-change inside . Please notice new power switch on front panel, proper for SS, not PC .

Now I'm waiting for proper condensor - Unseen's big cube 120mm condensor is too wide to fit this case, so I've ordered Deluxe 0.5kW condensor from Cold_ice .

We'll see if I can fit SC18CL and this condensor inside ...and I'm also thinking will 0.5 kw condensor with 2x 120mm fans will be enoght for SC18CL and 260W heatload - what do You think ? If not Aspera NE2134GK will go inside.

    With Kindest Regards,
    Peter

Ok Ive owned this case for quite some time it is amazing in alot of aspects however I dont even comprehend how your going to fit one phase unit nevermind mind a waterchiller aswell Im very interested now to see what you do here and in the pic it looks like you cut the motherboard tray too thin to fit a standard ATX mobo in their I dont know for sure just judging by the pic and staring at mine beside me.

Can't wait to see your work on this one.

Jinu was able to fit both units inside a TJ07 for me, there was not a lot of room left over and that sucker is very heavy.

In Your opinion 500W condensor cooled by two high flow 120x 38mm fans will be enought to cope with SC18CL cooled down 260W heatload, filled with R507 ???
I want safe unit work .

What is Your opionion, Guys ?

I'm thinking still of using Aspera NE2134GK or Danfoss SC18CL in this unit ..

    Thanks
    Regards
    Peter

Piotres you got the easy part, I'm the one who's going to figure out how to fit a chiller in there.
Think it's going to be one tough job, but fun.

Can't wait to see it when your finished. Could you maybe PM or msn me some pictures, so I can think a little about how to do it?

That's why I think of this electric box (I mean I know You'll be building chiller and I want to make You job easier and take as little space from case's inside as I can ) . If not that chiller which is planned I would mount BIG electric box of SC18CL on the top of case .

    But it's already decided , Aspera NE2134GK 1/2HP 12ccm will be inside .

So how many ccm in You opinion (from PDFs which You found) have NE2134GK ? I've found not one time, not in one PDF that it's 12ccm .

    Tomorrow sketch-up shouldn't be really needed .

it's right, Embraco Homepage says that NE2134GK is 12,1ccm and 1/2HP.

NEK2150GK has "1/2+" HP and about 120Watts more cooling capacity, but also 12ccm. Don't know how that can work.

    Hi

Some more work has been done :

Naked 41 mm tall/40 mm diam. evaporator core and brazed evaporator based on this core .

Deluxe condensor 0.5 kW - maybe performance is "deluxe" like for 120mm condensor - but stock look - for sure NOT . So I've to tune it a little by polishing and coating with clear lack (to make good look more durable) .

I've at home already boxed brand new NE2134GK compressor , now I'm waiting for one more surprise .

    Regards
    Peter
