    Rampage II Extreme Waterblocks

I just ordered the following for my current build and I need some waterblocks now.

Rampage II Extreme (X58 Chipset, not the regular Rampage)
    Intel Core i7 EE 965
    16GB's Dominator DDR3 1600 (6 X 2GB)

I need a Core i7 mount for my D-Tek V2 and some blocks for the MB. Does anyone know when blocks will start showing up? I really like swiftech's solution for the regular rampage and would like something similar to the R2E.

Any ideas on when a D-Tek mount for Core i7 will show up?

I would just start making your own as you dont want to have to wait for some bracket to come in after you get all of that awsome stuff in. The measurements are listed here in the forums of the socket holes.. theres a thread around here somewhere where swiftech's gabe announced they were releasing a GTZ block adapter. there's a lot of good info in that thread and the measurments are in there too. You could make your own solution with a trip to the hardware store. But to awnser your question, no idk about dtek's stuff

Another bird told me that maybe Gary over at Sidewinder Computers might have a D-Tek bracket for the LGA1366 early next week or first week of Dec ... but don't quote me ... I'll deny it!

I read in the R2E manual and it said that the Swiftech MCW-MBMAX is compatible with the R2E.

Another thing is one mosfet is longer than the other so hopefully they are sold in pairs this time instead of singles. I'm going to want blocks for everything as well so it'll be the old waiting game but I will try & fit something on the NB though. I'm sure one of the blocks already out there will fit it for the time being.

It was the one I got off the ASUS site. They might have updated it or something.

i have never had the REII in my hands but unless there are mounting holes at all four corners, or i am missing something, the block clearly won't work...

There seems to be the 2 mounting holes required for the Swiftech block:

there you have it, which makes sense. since ASUS "worked with" Swiftech on this block for their high end boards, it would only make sense for them to continue the spacing on those mount holes to work with the MCW-MBMAX. i would have been quite surprised had it not since the HPA design is pretty similar to the RE. thanks for the link EF

Why? I sold my RE and the NB Max when I bought the R2E. The NBMax will not work on the R2E and why even bother. The NB and SB do mot run hot like they do on the RE.

The NB and SB at load are only 35C on this board with the i7 965 at 4.20GHz.

The i7 is what needs to be Water Cooled, since with a TRUE it hits 70C under 100% load with HT enabled.

the photos don't show it mounted, they show it sitting in the available space.

Section 2.8.4 is not even in the physical Manual that comes with the R2E. The manual goes from 2.8.3 (Page 2-47) to 2.90 (Page 2-48).

It's only $35 for the NB Max so buy it.

Asus copies sections of previous User Guides into their Newer Boards On-Line Manuals and No one ever validates the info for accuracy. More than likely the On Line User guide for the R2E came str8 from the RE Manual for various sections.

That is in the mnaual DL'd from the Asus website. I also have it myself. I have that same pic with the same instructions. Clearly they would not have just sat a block on there that wouldn't work and just made up some instructions. There has to be more to this.

Maybe we need to wait for Gabe to see this.

Yes good & dandy I have the same on my order list from ncix but did you physically try the nbmax on the RIIE yourself or "you just know it won't fit"

Seems to me if you don't have stringent proof & ASUS themselves deems it will work then what is the world to believe? Asus or some guy that "said it won't fit"? lol see my point yet dude.
