iandh gets frisky with his XSPC top...

I decided that I wanted my standard XSPC top to be a res top instead, so I spent a few hours at the shop last night:

I was actually was supposed to be working on a waterblock base that someone commisioned, but I screwed that up horribly so I decided to do this instead since it has been on my list for a while.

Can't tell, does it have the tube insert on the intake?

Looks great, it's a big reservoir but I guess it can be adapted to any height depending on need.

See, i wanted to do the exact same thing, Take a XSPC top, make a smaller plexi top for it, with a 90* tube inside it. (to put the inlet barb on the side) basically, a much improved Alphacool top. Then send it to Martin to be tested.

I may cut it down, the way that I determined the height was by cutting the 12" piece of acrylic that I ordered in half. Its total height from base to barb tip is about 9". It's essentially a 150mm res.

@Big_Daddy: The inlet barb was originally going to be 90 degree so that it faced the same as the outlet. I got lazy but I'm probably going to redo the top piece anyways so I will probably change it then.

I'm only going to add the anti-cyclone insert if the flow of my loop warrants... they are not always necessary in restrictive loops.

Well, I know for a fact I could do it with a teeny-tiny endmill (which I have) but it would take like 14hrs on the machine.

    I PM'ed you btw.

It's on its way, that size acrylic was not in stock on west coast.
