    Nvidia 750i FTW

Has anyone used any blocks to cool the NB/SB and mosfets? Do the 780i blocks fit?

    Question

Anyone managed to get a Mosfet block to fit this board yet?

Already got the EK-NB 780i and EK-NB/SB 6 blocks for the board........just need a block for the Mosfet!

Are there any known mosfet heatsinks for 750i yet? The guy with post #27 in this thread says an HR-09 Type 3 would fit, but he doesn't back it up with anything.

ENZOTECH has just released a few mosfet heatsinks, one of them fits the 680i board and also works for all 780i reference boards on the I/O Chip side!

    http://www.enzotechnology.com/mst-780i.htm

Anyone know if this will fit on the 750i mosfet?....I haven’t had my board delivered yet so I can't check the size......

Yea I saw that at Petra's the other day, it looks sexy!!
And I bet you could easily mod it to fit the 750i if the holes are a little off.

Can any of you guys who actually have a 750i board measure the length of the mosfets, and the distance between the two mounting holes?

That's what I was thinking ........ but maybe mod an EK-Mosfet 680i instead

Is this board any kind of alternative if one can't get the 790i stable (even at stock) but really wants SLI?

Any of you with this board finished setting it up yet? I just got mine and i'm running into some trouble cooling the mosfets and SB. For the mosfets I just hacked up the stock heatsink and i'm using that, for the SB i had to hack up a little evercool HS and remove the fan. Would like to see what others have come up with.

    Thumbs down

Finally got my 750 FTW motherboard today, time to check a few blocks....

I had read that the EK-NF4 rev1.1 and the EK-NB/SB 6 would fit the board....lets find out....

First up was the EK-NF4 rev1.1 with an 8800 ultra with a EK-FC8800 GTX block fitted .....

There is no way to get normal barbs on the EK-NF4 rev1.1 as the block is too near the GFX block

It might have been possible if there wasn’t a component on the motherboard blocking it!

Well the EK-NF4 rev1.1 seems to be a no go with normal barbs, lets try the EK-NB/SB 6...........

The EK-NB/SB 6 sits directly under the GFX card......a big fat NO

Looks like I may have to forget about water cooling the chip and going for one of these instead

Thanks for the feedback Marquis. I was interested to see if you could WC the SB, I didn't think you could. What have you decided for the mosfets?

Nice Marquis you finally got your board. How long was it? . Anyhow good luck with your chipsets, that's definitely terrible that it sits under the cards like that.

I can't see how you would be able to make just a custom top, the motherboard component is blocking the base .....but I'm no block expert

Not sure yet, I wondering if the EK 680i mosfet might just touch the second row of mosfet chips?

It finally arrived yesterday, I won it at the beginning of April......

Well I tried the EK-NB 780 on the board to day, the bolts appear to line up ok and the block slide on fairly easy........

    However....................

There are 4 nuts that hold the bolts to the motherboard, 2 are stopping the block getting full contact with the 2 chips!

The only way I'm going to get full contact with the chips is to leave the nuts off, find thinner nuts or mod the block......

Now I know why its got the acronym FTW.....

    FOR THE WORK!

How much can you take off the block? Doesn't look like all that much. Just notch it out a tad.

However I do not think leaving those nuts off would be a problem. I think they are just there to help you when you are installing the block. The pressure from the block is still being applies to the back of the board, not to that top nut.

    Just my

Damnit. I didn't notice this on mine till you mentioned it, and I just finished bleeding the system! Looks like i'll be breaking that loop back down to notch this out. I tell yah what, this is the 3rd EK block i've had in 2 weeks with mounting issues. What's Eddy doing over there?
