I was fortunate enough to try out another yet to be release product, this time the XSPC Edge Acrylic CPU block. A special thanks to Paul from XSPC for providing me with a preproduction sample. By popular demand I even made an attempt at providing my first thermal test along with flow rate testing.

And the executive summary:
The block is a very tall and very fine side to side microchannel design. The big difference here is the very large and deep flow chambers and the very deep and fine microchannels. The flow chambers/spreaders help provide a nice uniform flow over the channels without creating any extra restriction, and the very tall microchannels provides a very high heat transfer surface area which both helps with heat transfer as well as reducing pressure drop.

I only have a few blocks done so far, but I have more I can do as time allows.
I also just got a Fuzion V2 in the mail today, so I'll start working on that one for another review. I was just wrapping this one up when I found out about the V2, so it's going to take a little work to get that one added to the mix.
XSPC said these should be shipping in the next few days.
