Hi guys! I've been lurking here for a while and now I really have to post my first noob topic.
Anyway, this week, I received my new mobo for my old 5000BE, a nice LP 790FX M2RS. The board works great, but it seems to have a high pitched sound coming from the PWM. Even tho I received a RMA number to exchange it from the vendor, some people over at NCIX told me I would probably face the same annoyance.
I currently have a Mushkin HP 550W, I'm not a big fan of OCZ power supplies and I've heard it does the same thing with the Corsair 520HX.High pitched noise on a motherboard is typically due to an incompatability with the power supply being used. 90% of the time swapping the power supply (different model) fixes the issue. Not all hardware plays well together."
I really would like to keep this board, but this ear piercing sound is one of the worst things ever, I'd be extremely grateful if someone could help me out with this.
EDIT : This is this motherboard, not the one with the heatpipe.
