Very sexy. I admit EK blocks always look great and I have 4 on mine (FB8800, NB Asus 3, 2x Mosfets Asus 3). If the EK Supreme isn't restrictive, I would have a full EK setup for sure.

this build will have the same 8800GTX KO with an EK block as my sig - and it has a black PCB so it'll all look great in the end. Which is why i sprayed the Fuzion mounting plate black.
but this will only have an e6850, coz i'm going to build another quad in another silverstone TJ07.For sure if the supreme wasn't so restrictive i would have gone EK all round too.

    Very nice..

How is the fit on your block?

Were you able to fit a screw through the middle hole from underneath?

Did you use a TIM pad or paste for the SB chip?

they're not actually mounted yet - just placed on to make sure the sb block fitted right. But i'll be using MX-2
But the fit is perfect from what i can tell atm

I found that the two mounting holes in the acrylic were good, but that the threaded hole in the copper underneath was not aligned.

Please check yours to see if the screw hole in the bottom is aligned or if it's off.. Thanks.

no, mine doesn't line up, but i'm not sure if it'll make alot of difference as there wasn't a screw there anyway (on the original block).
But i'll re-check it all tomorrow or monday when i actuall mount it all.

Yeah, the original block had tension at 4 different points.

EK put the middle screw hole there for tension across the SB chip.. not sure how critical that really is.

I did notice a gap about the thickness of a paper business card between the block and the SB chip.

Gap is a few tenths of a mm, so I'm thinking paste or TIM should do.

I'll ask Eddy about it when he gets back from Cebit.

Cut a strip of paper or card stock and try to fit it in like this:

I cut a strip of a business card paper, which was 0.3 mm thick.

I can fit it in just over the left side of the SB chip, but it's a tight fit on the right side.

I'm not sure if 0.3 to 0.5 mm of gap is really all that critical or not, but it would be good to see.

I wasn't able to fit the strip on the left hand side of the block where the silver Crosslinx chip is, so that's a good fit there.

Huhmm looking at the block with the acrylic top it appears the lower left and upper right corners are not covered. I wonder how that will effect performance.

Probably not enough to matter.. there's quite a lot of copper mass on top.

Yes, it doesn't matter a lot since there is still enough surface to cool it.

    Haven't run it yet.

Using the longer screws with the spring mounts seems to be a bit better.. less of a gap.

Once EK fixes the alignment of the screw hole underneath - either by a different top or a fixed bottom - then the gap should be eliminated.

For now, I just put on a glob of AS5 to make sure it spreads out.

On most of the latest nb/sb blocks they're underneath the mobo so u don't see them.

As for the green washers - surely there must be black ones?

the SB and mosfet does not put out much heat right? does it really need to be water cooled or are you doing this just because this is XS?
